those small convex mirrors on your side mirrors? i had them on every car i've driven except for my 6th gen. i'm tempted to get them, but sorta don't want to ruin the "virgin" mirrors with a cheap autozone product...

if you adjust your mirrors correctly, you won't have a blind spot. there is no reason for anyone to have a blind spot (unless you're blind).

yea man, I try not to go by just mirrors also, if I'm turning I like to see for myself whats to the side of me. I don't think there is a use for them unless you tow large trailors behind you, I mean a quick look out the window will do for me.

It IS a good idea

I bought my maxima used, and it already had a small convex mirror stuck on my left sideview mirror. To tell you the truth, I am GLAD its there, it definately helps with my blindspot. And it doesnt look as dumb as you all may think, I actually thought that it was supposed to be there when I bought the car since it was already stuck on! Lol

well the only reason i got them on my old max is because i had several close calls. I turned around to have a quick look, but the car in front of me suddenly braked hard, and I almost slammed into her.

i don't wanna rear end someone in my new car . i guess i gotta get used to not having them.

I had similar reserves with adding them to the max. I too have them on all my other vehicles. One thing that may pursuade me to add them is for backing up. I like to make sure I am in between the lines and I usually backup into parking spaces. I have the DPP with the auto mirror drop for reverse but it only does it on one side. For the blind spot...just turn your head slightly...use your pheripherial view and you should see if a car is there without having to completely turn your head around.

I have never used the outside mirrors as 'rear view' mirrors. I have the outside mirrors on both sides aimed straight at what are considered to be the 'blind spots'. I use the inside mirror to see to the rear.

But, like others here, if in doubt, I 'supplement' my mirrors with a quick glance. Catching the usually heavy front end of a vehicle with the comparatively light rear of ones Maxima will knock your rear to the right and head you right across the median (or the centerline) sideways. I would imagine that is not a pleasant feeling.

I am definitely in the minority here, but I put the blind spot mirror on my Max as soon I got it. I tried the convex mirror first but I didn't like it. I switched back to the little rectangle shape mirror that slopes outward away from the driver.
I've never had anyone make any comments on it either way since it's been on there. I just like the fact that I don't have to turn around at all to change lanes. Makes passing much easier.....and quicker.

I don't. I think the mirrors work pretty well. I usually take a quick look over my shoulder before I change lanes so....

Gordon, they have small rectangular shaped ones that aren't so obnoxious looking. Maybe one of those in the corner would be ok. If YOU are used to having them on there and they aid with the safety level of your driving, why not install them?

Sorry I don't have a pic of it on the car, but here is what it looks like.
http://www.brandsport.com/glbl-ptrn-v599.html You can pick them up at just about any auto parts store for about $3.00.

They were on my '04 when I bought it. I was going to remove them but found them invaluable for parking. I'm always fearful of scratch the rims on curbs. I got use to the blind spot...you just have to make sure you take a quick look. I don't really use the mirrors for that.

I think you should put on your car whatever will help you be a better driver. I have DPP on the Max and the heat may make the glue wear out and the mirror will fall off. Once again. Personal preference.

Come to think of it, the mirrors also dim. Where is the "eye" for that? I don't want it to stay dimmed.

I have a fully loaded 2005 Max SE and I'm not sure I understand what this DPP is.

Cvan44, your car looks absolutely sick! I just got one like that in 6speed and I love everything about it. Only thing that bothers me is the ride height difference between the front and the rear. I see on your pics it looks even and sweet. What springs/coilovers did you use and hows the ride quality?
