Pioneer vs Bose - Mids and Highs?

Gettin a Pionner HU soon and wondering what i should do about the Mids and Highs. I understand that an aftermarker HU wont sound too great with the stock bose setup so should i stick with the Pioneer line or are there any better that cost about the same as Pioneer? Is Kicker any good other than with Subs? Considering that i just want the mids and highs to output treble. im gonna change the free-air 8" to a JL sub perhaps.

The pioneer should sound better with the bose. The stock bose headunit vs the pioneer headunit = pioneer is the winner. You have more adjustability dependong on which unit you go with etc. I don't think you know what you mean when you say you just want your mids and highs to output treble. Mids will produce midbass, that is an essential part of any good system. Tweeters will reproduce the "treble".

hmm i see so will i not be able to get the bass outta the doors with the Pioneer HU and let the Subs do all the bumping? i was reffering to the actual speakers either to keep the bose or slap on some pioneers since im already gettin the pioneer D1.

You can remove the bass from the door speakers depending on which pioneer unit your going with. Just set the HPF at 125.

speakers are passive...they do not have feelings and are not related to their radio by blood. give us a budget and we can help you further.

I like your thoughts on budget! well IMO in order to achieve a good front stage you need to get an amp for the front components so do not forget to include that in the budget. I recommend something from pearl96max: rainbows can be had for a very fair price.

CDT HD-62 Components. They'll run you about $315. No idea how much modification you'll have to do with the speaker housings though. After that just get a good 2 channel amp and you're good to go.

PS- Not too familiar with comparable Rainbow speakers but the brand is solid.
