1. its too small
2. its a vq, unless you swapped in a vg

Look around a little in the stickies and just read some treads.

well it would be pointless to put a sr20 turbo on it as they are small and not all that great if you ask me. you need to read the facts on sizing a turbo for your car the ct26 would work well for your car as it does nice with a 3.0 engine. or If you wanted to drop some cash in it you could go with a gt35r

dont waste your money time or put any effort in that. Turbo is very small for a 3.0. Youll get some good low end and then choke the crap out of the car on mid to high end. Not worth it.

As soon as you start making some power in a FWD car, it's always more productive to shape the powerband towards high end. No matter how cool you think wheelspin is, it gets old to not be able to put your car's power to the ground.

ain't that the truth. That is why I always laugh to myself when guys on here talk about making 400, 500, 600+ hp on their maxima. The only place that power will even begin to be held is at a sticky track with slicks and many other supporting mods done. So unless the car is gonna be a dedicated track car there is really no point in over 400whp on the street

Tell that to Neal and Mardi lol. That's why I'm staying N/A and scratching every single HP on both sides, with focus on weight reduction, gearing, etc. to make every last horsepower count.

My personnal scale is that 2nd gear HAS to dead hook on the street. If it doesn't, work on tires/suspension until it does, even if they are just on-the-absolute-verge-of-blowing-up-in-smoke. 2nd gear should always be the plant-your-@ss-hard-in-the-seat gear. I've accepted that 1st is totally worthless, but 2nd just has to hook, and I don't mean it has to hook on Continental 175/70/13 all seasons lol.

I know that if I had a boosted max I would run conservative, every day boost for the street and go all-out with race gas and slicks for the track. Only way to go IMO.

thats the reason Mardi has that large turbo. Get all that power towards the end. Making that power in 1st or 2nd gear useless, your going to crack the case like I did and destroy gears inside the tranny. For that type of power is best to move onto a RWD vehicle.

SR20DEN blew up his 6 speed tranny. How strong are those 6 spd trannies?

Synchro died I believe. I have never heard of someone stripping a gear in a 6-speed.

Also I think the 2004 & up 6-speeds are even better.

The 6-speed gears are apparently much thicker than our 5-speeds according to Travis.

I don't laugh when Neal and Mardi talk about it because they are dedicated track guys. I have ridden in Neal's turbo car many times and it is only good on the highway. Even at my power levels 2nd gear is just about useless and I have 245/50/15 Z rated tires, ES motor mounts, VSLD, and Eibach springs

Basically do not put a turbo smaller then a T04E on a VQ30de engine or it is just a waste of time and money. Like they were saying no matter how much horsepower you have it is hard to get lower than 13's in the quarter mile because your 60ft time is terrible and 1st and 2nd gears are useless. You have to make up for it in 3rd and 4th and then its already been 1/4 mile.
