Hi everybody,

I'm a new Maxima Owner. Just bought Icelandic Pearl SE w/ tan leather interior. I have one major question about the car.

Handling. On long curves on California Freeways at 70-80 mph (the Dana Point downhill curve on the 5 North - for example) the car has a lot of "float." Feels like my grandmother's old Caddy. Is this just a matter of springs and shocks?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance -

get ready, set, get modding!

check out the 'parts list inside' sticky post (the upper most posts)

you'll find all the modifications you can do to your car to enhance the suspension, etc.

i would recommend you get the front strut tower brace and rear sway bar first. that'll help you out on the turns at fast speeds.

You know, the way the car feels like its swaying around turns with bumps. Thank the rear axle for that one.

congrats and welcome For simple ways to improve handling, I suggest two things : RSB and FSTB. They are easy to bolt up and make a huge difference.

The only way I got the "floaty" feel out of my car was by lowering it. The FSTB and RSB came into play when I was agressively corning (not necessarily at higher speed).

It just seems to float --- when I go over a long roller type bump in the middle of a long curve the upward momentum of the car affects the steering and handling to the point where you feel momentarily out of control. It settles back down quite quickly.
