ScanTool.net products in a Maxima?

Has anybody in the forum use or own a OBDII product (interface or software) from ScanTool.net for the Maxima? They just released the ElmScan5 that supports all OBDII protocols (including ISO and CAN) for a reasonable price so it is pretty tempting. Just wondering it anybody has had good or bad experiences with their products... Considering all manufacturers need to go to CAN protocol after 2008, it is probably a good idea to get an OBDII scanner that supports it.

Was it the ELM323 chip? That is the only ELM chip that supports ISO 9141 protocol (Maxima's protocol). The new ELM327 supports all the protocols, including the latest CAN.

yes it was the ELM323, and i could not get it to work. instead i picked up a stand alone (ISO,PWM,VPW & CAN compatable) code readed off ebay for $80, it cant do as much as the scantool reader connected PC can do, but its a less of a process when i need to pull a code

For diagnostics it's very helpfull if you can put more than sensor on a graph..(two 02 sensors on the same graph rather than 2 different graphs, which you would then have to cut and paste one graph onto the other to compare the two.)
Different manufactures hae different software....Let me do some research, see what I can come up with for GD's and output information and I'll post what I find in a few weeks.
(Example I know a guy with an Intregra. His Scantool cost about $200 and he can adjust fuel trim *A/F ratio*, timing, idle, and some other stuff.....Going to see if I can find anything Nissan specific.)

Cool, that would be great. I've heard that the only way to tweak stuff in the Max is with the CONSULTII machine at the dealers. As long as diagnostic data can be collected from the ECU (codes, sensor data, etc) reliably, I'm happy.
