Anyone paint match their front grill? Pics please!

Hey Guy's, When my MT lip and stillen tail arrives I'll be getting them painted. I'm considering having my factory grill painted (super black) to match, does anyone have a pic of this already done? I'd really like to see it before hand, specifically in black. Thanks! And although there was an earlier thread wanting to see "grills" it was funny before but please no BBQ grills!

Wow those look so much better! The 5th gen grills are one of the things I like least about 5th gens. The painted grill blends in with the car instead of standing out. Looks nice and clean.

What did you guys pay to have your grills and lips painted. My car is glacier pearl so I'm sure it will be a little higher on the scale.

do you know if u still keep the engine cover on? what about o2 sensors in the front? should I tuck them under the engine cover or should I wrap it up in a bag to prevent water from damaging the wires? what about battery?

There is a Merlot '03 SE w/ black leather for sale less than a mile from my house. I think I better go for a little walk.

A little O/T for this thread, but here's what I do: When I'm at the carwash, the first thing I do is pop the hood and spray it with the tire cleaner while I do the tires. Then I use the pre-wash on the rest of the car while the bay soaks a bit. Next I just rinse out the bay and close the hood so I can continue to wash the rest of the car. That should get most of the bay clean. On the newer cars, you don't need to worry like the old-school cars because all the electronics are nice and sealed. Never had a single problem and I've probably done it around 100+ times.

Once I have the bay cleaned and the car washed and dryed, I pull out the armourall wipes and start wiping everything rubber or plastic down in the bay. After that's done, I then (literally) wax my engine cover, close the hood and wax the rest of the car. At 148,000 miles, my engine bay looks 100 times better than when I pulled it off the lot.

"just spray it and forget it" as the tard on the infomercials says. Don't worry, a little water won't kill it! If it did, every time it rained you wouldn't be able to drive.

Mine is different...

I see that everybody just paint the whole grille. I just painted the stripes, the outside frame, and it looks so good. Here's a pic...

no it doesn't

Actually, I prefer the whole thing painted because from looking at the top of the car, the paint makes the grill flow better.

never had a problem with my CAI (it's modified slightly now and even easier for me to spray the filter). You can get a new logo from any stealership. I think they're 20-40 bux, but not quite sure.

you know why it looks good? i think because it looks like the spaces between the lines look just the the spaces were the bottom grille would go if you had one. It clashes really well because they both look like they sink all the way back to the car. Very VERY nice...Painted grilles look insane...JUST i cant imagine what it would look with my color
