going to the dyno Saturday!!

Well i talked to a guy i have a class w/ yesterday and it turns out he builds all the motors for a performance shop down the street from my house. We were talking and he said he could hook me up w/ a dyno this weekend and he would help me fine tune my car for $30. Now i am trying to make sure i get everything w/ the car situated and checked on before going so it isn't a waste of time. I am going to check belt tension, codes, and boost leaks. Is there anything else i should check based on your past experiences. I guess i will finally see if pi$$ing away all that money was worth it

BTW ICEY2k1 will finally quit whorring up my threads w/ his dyno comments.

Dont worry about "Icey" on the cake. Worry about putting down over 300HP. Do not forget to scan and post it

Should we take guesses as to what the car is going to put down?

He's got a centrifugal SC dude, not a turbo, lol.

Anyways I think IF everything is working as it should he will be putting down some strong numbers. Something along the lines of 315whp and 280ft-lb. It's hard to tell though since he's got a pretty different setup than alot of people. He's (I assume) running more timing than pretty much anyone at that boost level given the W/A inj, but he doesn't have the extra revs like the guys with the JWT and yet he has that cutout which will help - So I wouldn't be too surprised if he put down even higher #s.

You may be very close, I forgot he has those heavy a$$$$$ 19's. Those weigh in at least 22lbs a piece if not more and that is going to rob some horsies.

Chris is time to invest in lightweight 19s

Just for friendly conversation i figure i would post this thread. It is a thread of nismotech's dyno. He has basic stillen setup w/ 2.87 pulley and 2.5" exhaust and a horrible AFR. Now i don't know exactly how much of a power advantage i will have from having a good tune, headers, and 3" cuttout will give me, but i just wanted to show some proof that i am not completley retarded for assuming 350 whp.

Chris,

Check to make sure your VIAS isn't broke...

Have you verified your boost level is right?

I guess the boost level is right, but the water injection makes it read lower due to the cooler charge. I think i am getting 10 psi with it and i was getting 12.5 without. The VIAS was working last time i checked during the whole Modding fiasco.

The 2.62" pulley with 100% methanol injection would be a great test on the dyno, since detonation would be easy to hear and shut down safely.

BTW, don't forget the disk~!!!!!
