I did it ! 13.97@98.87mph (all motor)

Some of you guys know how long I have been chasing 13.99999999x ! It finally happened today, didnt breakdance on my hood like I said I would, but did let out a big enough shout to get everyones attention.

Went out on my first pass on the second day of the drags, against a Honda Integra Type R. The Type R won the race but I finally bagged a 13 second run. I feel like the old chariot is really going to move when I add the drag radials and OOVI. You just cant complain, the USIM was kind to me today.

More importantly was the 60 foot. Landing a 2.14 was enough to help me break into the 13 second club and boy it was a long time coming.

The Slip
60 Foot: 2.147
1/8th: 9.029
MPH: 79.99
1/4:13.979
MPH: 98.87

your car is fast man. It's gonna fly when you get the DE-K manifold!
Do you plan on raising the rev limiter or using an AFC?

yes, rear door panels taken out, passenger side seat belt removed, center console was taken out, made a neat little tray like thing to keep my phone and smokes in it, lol ! my thinking was hey this is the last race of the season in my area. 14.001 was 2/1000ths away from 13.9 or 2 lbs.

so i went after two pounds and came out with about 16 lbs.

Fantastico!! Way to go man!!

I knew you'd do it sooner or later if you kept taking something new off every week! lol

I believe you are the first to run 13's N/A with the USIM.

ha ! yeah, what a wrestling match in itself to make the USIM give in and allow me to cross the line at 13.9. it really was a combination of 60 foot, weight reduction, and dave b's shift points, lol ! o and h2kfrosty as well. I could hear him saying Ceasar you are staying in your gears to long!

i wish that dyno of mine was done in rpms, but it was done in third and kilometers per hour ? so at the track i kept debating on what i should shift at in 3rd. the vehicle speed sensor is all out of whack on the car and i had to remember to shift earlier from 3-4th. my rev limit is down in the red close to 6800 or 6900 rpms instead of 6500rpms even though i still have a 6500 rpm rev limit.

anyways that 3-4th shift may or made not have made a difference, but im going to have a look at that dyno sheet again and see if i can make some sense out of it in rpms.

for conversion factors re: RPM/gear ratios/ final drive/ tire size etc.

Once again congrats on the time.

ha ! well money has been really tight for a long time now, but i have sourced a guy thats going to make a fiberglass mold of my hood, and I have the corbeau racing seat im going to have shipped over when I get the money up, this should be another 35-40 lbs of weight reduction, maybe even 50.

Im still going with a Hoosier Drag Radial, they are 4 lbs lighter than my T1R's per tire in 225/50/16. And have sourced and need to retrieve the OOVI. But the OOVI will be the toughest mod for me so will be needing help from the org on installation, then what to use with it like vafc2 or whatevers best when the time comes. after this will move on to the dyno for tuning.

I hope to reach 13.6 possibly, not sure if that is asking to much or not really. But the Maxima would be very hard to beat in my all motor class here. So hopefully by november i will have all this sorted. Here in NZ the weather continues to get hotter so im about to slow down on the racing, next meet in april.

thanks everyone ! man the 4th gen maxima has so many options now, from engine swaps, to IM swaps, ecu upgrades, mods here and there. For people who want to rough it and stay N/A, there are going to be some fast 4th gens in the years to come.

Man im loving it !
