Never even heard of such a thing. I can't see any problem with using one though. I guess it arms your alarm after the car has shut off?

Some alarms have a turbo timer function built into them now. They might not be as fancy as some of the turbo timers, but as long as it lets the car run and the turbo cool then it should be fine. Some of the new water cooled turbos especailly ball bearing ones don't even really need turbo timers unless you were just boosted when you stopped.

DEI products ie viper, clifford, avital and any others with remote start have it basicly when your ready to get out of the car and turn it off you hit the button/s on the remote to remote start it and it runs for a programed amount of time but it doesnt automaticly keep your car running when you remove the key

Yep I got a viper auto start in my 96 auto Max,you have to hit the button everytime you turn your engine off,for the auto start to work,it's good if you have it already, but not as convenient as the turbo timer itself, plus if someone else drive your car, they might not know how to get it to work.

Like posted above you have to activate it. Annoying? Maybe but saves money and a eyecandy for potential thieves.

my ungo alarm has one but you have to set it manualy to get it to work as a real turbo timer would activate on its on after cutting the unit on!

my friend has one and it worked fine with turbo....it only took two seconds to activate so it wasn't that much of an inconvenience....the only problem was the 99 ecu eventually bypassed the feature (just like the remote start), but it should work fine in other model years.

Yeah it will work just fine, but it won't AUTOMATIC set the period of time it need to run, like to keep your motor COOL right, like how hard you drive your car and how long it need to your car run.IMO it's an OK feature, but lack the convenient of a true turbo timer, and the piece on mind of owning one.
