today: drag times, and prep (pics)

so i decided that i'd run my car for the first time which happened to be my first time (legally) drag racing. me and the buddies all have this little "crew" and they all have stripped out honda's. from what i noticed previously from stripping all of their cars and after, it seemed considerably faster.

so here's what i did for the weekend just to have a little more fun.

and here's the numbers of the outcome from best time to worst.

First run of the day at around 46 degrees F
r/t - .148
60' - 2.240
330 - 6.170
1/8 - 9.388
MPH - 76.36
1000 - 12.168
1/4 - 14.497
MPH - 96.28

Second to last run of the day
r/t - .265
60' - 2.293
330 - 6.240
1/8 - 9.492
MPH - 75.59
1000 - 12.281
1/4 - 14.620
MPH - 96.38

Last Run of the day spinning half way through first
r/t - .331
60' - 2.437
330 - 6.680
1/8 - 9.956
MPH - 75.31
1000 - 12.748
1/4 - 15.072
MPH - 96.42

and finally my second time of the day spinning COMPLETELY through first and second (tiptronic)
r/t - .190
60' - 2.530
330 - 6.904
1/8 - 10.219
MPH - 74.52
1000 - 13.037
1/4 - 15.380
MPH - 95.88

Get the launch and you'll be good ....
Stop spinning so much. You're last 60' is absolutely horrendous... but the actual time isn't as bad as one would think.

yes, i removed everything from the front seats back except for the parcel shelf and the trunk lid liner.

the back seats together weigh a ton! wow lol i was impressed

and yeah i was spinning on my slowest time because the track wasn't warmed up.
when i left my house this morning it was reading 21 degrees F and the drag strip had to stay closed because of the ice on it. so i'm REALLY happy i did this good considering this is my first time ever drag racing.

15.3 @ nearly 96 mph = You have launch issues.

honda guys taking out their interiors ? noway i dont believe it ! HA ! just joking with you, there are very few cars that run with interior at my track. It continues to get so competitive that if one guy see's you racing without shoes, he will take his off too, then if you remove all your loose change and cell phone from pockets , so will the other guy and so on. crazy !

good to see a 6th gen out racing and putting up some good numbers. 14.4 basically stock right ? good work, i had to work like hail to get down to 14.4, lol ! got to love the vq35de !

so did you hang with any of the smaller hondas, with their power/weight ratio some only need about 155hp to the wheels to run low 14's.

LOL. That's what happens when you run heads up I guess...

Man you should run in your tighty whities. At your height and weight your clothes have gotta be worth what, 2 or 3 lbs?

yeah. whatever about the honda's lol they get respectable power and times for how much they spend on their stuff. so imports are imports right?

anywho, that was my first time ever, and i thought i did surprisingly well considering i've never timed a tree like that besides stop lights

i'm going to go again next weekend if the weather looks up with a few of the NWmaxima guys.

thanks for the feedback, guys.
