HOW TO: Fix Amber to Red Conversion Paint Leakage
HOW TO: Fix Amber to Red Conversion Paint Leakage
HOW TO: For fixing leaking paint in this amber to red conversion for the chrome tail lights..

a. If the paint is fresh, use hot water and pour it in the light bulb hole filling to the brim of the ENTIRE housing, empty and continue this process as well as swishing around the hot water inside..
b. If the paint has dryed a little bit, your going to need to use hot water with paint thinner that has been dilluted down a bit. swish this around and the paint at this point after a few times of going through this process will definitely be gone. it will look like its getting worse spreading the paint around everywhere at first, but it will go away after a few times of doing this.

WARNING: do not get the hot water on the dum dum located on the back of the housing.. it will melt and if it gets inside your housing its not guaranteed it will come out.
let it rinse upside down so the water can drain out the tail light housing.. use (preferably) an air compressor to dry out the housing through the bulb holes and space between the outside lens and the 2nd lens that meets where the bulbs screw into.

now start from scratch this time and be more careful the next time you attempt redding out the amber rear lens.

In the thread where everybody told him he was screwed, somebody already linked him to lightwurkz. In THIS thread, he's saying that he found a way to fix it. What exactly is lightwurkz going to "take care of" for him if he mails his fixed light to them? Are they going to look at it and say, "Yup, that sure is fixed all right!"?

buy 'Testors' candy red enamel paint from you local hobby shop store and spray into the back of the amber lens section of your tail light (where the bulb screws into). mist it lightly or youll get the disaster i had which i corrected thankfully. do many coats till your satisfyed..
make sure you let the tail light side right side up (back facing the floor) when drying each coat so the spray spreads around when drying.
if it does leak because you sprayed too much, use my 'how to' to fix your mistake. i just finished redding out the amber and it looks 10x better all red, than with that ugly amber color.

So... can this be done with the red part of the tail light too... with a different color? Such as... I have SE tails... what if I sprayed both the amber and red parts of the tail with VHT niteshades from the inside. How would that work?
