Stripped axles or CV joints

so me and a friend are riding around and i turn off of one road onto another and just kinda punch it...rpms jump up and speedometer goes up...loud clicking noises from front end and steering wobbling...at first im thinking transmission...but when i parked my car it rolled cause i was on a hill. so ****** e brake and begin to try to figure it out. looked at axles they look fine, so i get back in the car pull it into reverse and the axles are free spinning and clicking badly. and five minutes before this i dropped my phone into a cup of dr. pepper so at this point its a bad night. in 00 it got new axles...in 9/05 it got new axles...the VQ is owning some axles. HORRIBLE NIGHT

Lift the front end, and spin one wheel. (I assume you have the standard diff) - if you can make it spin quietly (the far wheel will spin backwards), your axles are good but your tranny is bust. Probably the output pinion - ground into metalburger.

If so, time to find a new transmission.
