Got my new 02 today! **PICS UP**

http://community.webshots.com/myphot...ecurity=daeNJw

Heres the community webshots link, I couldn't figure out how to put them right in the thread.

This morning me and my dad went and picked up my new 02 max. Black on black 6 speed. I don't think it has HLSD, the pedals are "drilled" but they look aftermarket. It was too cold to check under the hood. I think the first thing I'm gonna do is rewire the fog lights, and I want to get the smoked side markers instead of clear. I used to have 95 so I've been on the site for a while, but I'm still kind of new. I also want to get the angel eyes, but my car has data dots stickers all over it so I don't know if I'll be able to get the lights out.

I have one question, the heated steering wheel turns on and works great when I first start the car.
It is supposed to automatically shut off after 30 minutes (according to the manual), but it gets cool
before 30 mins. Sometimes it heats back up. After a while, the indicator light is still on but there is no heat.
It won't heat up again unless the car is shut off for over 10-20 mins, and then restarted. Does anyone
else have this problem?

I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow...Glad to be back

Nice find. Sounds like a good car.

I don't have the meridian package, so I'll let those who do, chime in.

Congratulations on your new car. I see your in Albany, did you buy it from a dealer? If so which one? I have the heated steering wheel and I never noticed it turning off but usually I don't leave it on for very long. I'll try it tomorrow if I think of it and let you know.

Congrats dude! I really hope that it's a good car, but honestly, I don't think cold weather is an excuse not to check under the hood. Did you guys get a warranty on it?

Thanks everyone! The car has 74,000 miles on it. I found (FINALLY) at a dealership in Highland Park, NJ through autotrader. I don't have a warranty on it because my friends dad got it wholesale for me. You're right DrKlop, cold weather is no excuse, but I found the original sticker, and HLSD wasn't mentioned on it, and I was feeling a little lazy... I'll see if I can take some pics tomorrow if I can get ahold of a digital camera

Sweet car man! Yes I have meridian package on my GLE, and the same thing happens to me...though I dont really find it necessary for it to be on more than 2 minutes because it heats quickly. The warmth from your hands takes care of the rest from there.

I'm looking for a 6 speed as well, glad to see you found yours.

i think the heated wheel 'problem' is typical on the cars. Definitely go for the smoked sidemarkers on the front i have em and definitely on a black car they look better than the regularclears

I love the blue. My first stick was a 96 glacier pearl se, I sucked too... then I totaled it. I know the miles are kind of high, but my 95 had 193kmi and was perfect, and I was sick of looking for a black/black 6 speed, i thought i would never find one. So when this one came along, I jumped. I don't think I granny shift, but im not sure...

Italiano- The angel eyes look awesome... the tires on mine are pretty bad in the snow, we had an inch and I could barely stop.

Nice ride hope you enjoy the jump from 4th gen to 5.5 as much as I am. No worries on the heated wheel mine does that as they all seem to. Mine will come back on, then off... cool down, then on, etc. At first I thought what a dumb option but after I used it I liked it, the wife loves it, memory seating is a bonus too.

I love it so far, its only been 3 days and its not on the road yet, but I've spent a lot of time with it and reading the manual. I let my girlfriend have the number 2 memory, I might let her move it one day or something lol.

MaxRB8- sick rims!

congratulations!!! I wasnt aware there was a 6MT for sale in Highland Park (a couple of towns away from me).

WARNING: Driving a VQ35DE powered Maxima is addicting!!! I've had my 02 Maxima since March 2002 and it's still a blast to drive.

Good pick, those miles don't meant anything. Just check everything fluids, maint. stuff, and change it over to start off. The Gf will be satisfied knowing that #2 is hers but just get that thing to 3K in second and then mat it with her in the car. She won't want to drive it. BaaaaWaaaaaahhhh!!!!!

- sooner fan

I like the pedals but my shoe touches the brake while I'm accelerating, I have to adjust my angle... I don't know if I'm gonna keep the dash kit on the door panels, it looks kind of cheap. And I LOVE your car...

"Those pedals in your car are badass" - 6SpeedTA95
Thanks! The drilled into the floor on the dead pedal so they're staying, I don't want any holes lol

"BTW: are your wheels chromed or polished??" -djbonsu
They are chrome, it looks like the guy before me had the factory wheels dipped.

"...but just get that thing to 3K in second and then mat it with her in the car..." -MadMax
The gf has a 99 jetta 2.0 5 spd, I'll have to try that haha

MaximaCharlotte- nothing wrong with an auto, especially in a traffic jam

Thanks for all the compliments everyone, its great to be "one of the guys" again lol

Just to get back to the original question- the htd wheel and seats too will cycle off when they get too hot, then cycle back on.

I just purchased a '02 Max SE 6 spd for $13,800 with 59,000 miles today. Drove 2.5hrs to look at it. Signed the title of my car over and took it home 1.5hrs laster. Got it out of Wexford, PA. real close to the OH/PA border.

Absolutely fantastic ride and incredible power. It is black as well, but has cloth interior.
