leaking antifreeze

Guys i'm not a mechanic so i need some help. I'm leaking antifreeze on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
I was going to use a double coiled flux compasitor do diminish the ratio to 123674.9878654.5. and double the crank shaft pulley time to just over dead tap center. LOL???? WHAT!!!

In all seriousness i think it's the water pump. What test should i do? It is a very slow dribble of a leak. WATER PUMP? If so where is it. Can a newbie do it?
Thank u all so much.

yeah my buddy just told me that is kind of a bad idea because it could clog the rest of your system. He is by no means a mechanic either.

Plugging a leak is a temporary fix for a permanent problem. Your only buying a little time. The water pump on the Maxima is not a job for amateurs. It's internally driven off the cam chain and access to the area is limited. It is located underneath a cover beneath the serpentine belt idler pulley just behind and below where the lower radiator hose attaches to the engine. You can see by looking how little room there is to access this area. As the cover has a sealing gasket a leaking pump likely will not drip from the cover, but lower down - perhaps from the timing chain cover. I don't know as I haven't yet faced this problem. I'd say that if you can rule out hose connections and the leak is definitely coming from the engine itself then it's probably the pump. Good luck.

As stated, it's more than likely the pump. Take it to a professional.
