cell phone charger burns cig lighter fuse

my cell phone charger keeps burning out the fuse on my 02 max gle.
It was working great for many months and suddenly keeps doing this now.
I tried leaving it plugged in at all times and also just plugging in and pulling out when the power is off but didnt work.

I should be able to leave it in there and not have to worry about a fuse burning out.
I appreciate any ideas of the problem.
Thx

I would try using a different charger and see if you see the same problem. Seems your charger is drawing too much current, which would mean it can't be good for your phone either!

Are you using one of those cheap non OEM chargers? If so, that might be your problem.

Fuse blowing with car-chargers is typicaly caused by wires shorting at plug ends or internal charger component shorts...

Ya...you may want to replace the charger as everyone has mentioned. Had the same problem with a genuine Verizon charger. It would work as long as I didn't push it all the way in. As soon as I did, it blew both fuses (front, rear). I replaced the fuses, and plugged in a different charger, and no probs...
