New struts and springs (parts question)

I am going to be installing new shocks and struts and am planning on replacing EVERYTHING that i remove with the old ones. My main question is this, does the top strut mount come as an assembly or do i need to buy the 8-10 individual parts and assemble myself? Anyone have part numbers for these BTW?

Sorry if this is a repost but i need this ASAP and my nissan dealer never knows what i am talking about when i comes to parts.

thanks in advance,
Matt

P.S. is there anything else that i need to get other than the dustboot/bumpstop? (other than hardware of course)

P.P.S. does nissan sell the coil spring covers seprately or do i need to run to ace and get some tubing?

why are you buying all new parts? And second, don't deal with your local dealer, call Dave B. He's the man and he gives us org. members a discount, will help with all your questions too. just call 1-888-254-6060 and ask for Dave Burnett

You should also check around in the 5th gen classifieds. There are A LOT of guys that sell their OEM suspension and many with low miles.

And even if you don't get your parts from Dave, he could probably give you some advice as to what to replace and part numbers for what you need.

Like Tim said, check out the Classifieds here too, a ton of stock suspension stuff for cheap.

There is no reason to replace the strut upper mounts or top hat.....the only upper component that you *could* replace (if you wanted to) would be the strut upper bearing. Don't waste your money on full upper mount components though.....that would be....kind of stupid.

The present springs are good enough and may not need replacement. My front struts failed on me some days back and I had to ground my car and get a rental. DaveB sent me front struts, dust boots and bearings on priority 2 day mail. The guy is genuine and great to work with.

I replaced them and car drives like a champ.

Struts : $135 (local dealer charged $185)
Boots : $11.50 (local dealer charged $20)
Bearings : $15 (local dealer charged $25)

DaveB is the man!!!

Dealer sells the spring isolators to the tune of about $12 each. These usually do not need replacing and, in my experience, the dealer does not stock many of these. I have used Springs/Shocks for sale if you want them. Nothing wrong with them, willing to get rid of the shocks for $100 + shipping.

PM me.

sorry, i mistyped that first post, i got new struts and springs. i am replacing these parts that probably dont need replacing just out of preference, and when i put my lowering springs on i had to cut the strut mount stud to get the nut off, so if i run into that again i want to be prepared and also i would like to assemble the strut/spring assembly fully so all that needs to be done while the car is in the air is to swap them in and out. so more of a preference and comfort thing and i cant see any downside to replacing everything especially if it is under $100.

are the spring isolators the rubber tubinglike pieces around the top and bottom of the spring, cause those are one part that i am definately replacing.
