Another 14 second auto max

Just got back from the track and ran my personal best. I would have scanned the slip but my scanner is broke. Anyway heres the slip.

R/T: .715
60': 2.146
330: 6.209
1/8: 9.573
MPH: 72.10
1000: 12.485
1\4: 14.981
MPH: 90.05

My trap speed sucked compared to my last time at the track. The only differences from the last time are I took out my passenger seat instead of just my back seats and installed a budget high flow cat. My first runs were 15.8's when the car was still hot from driving there. I bought ice on the way to the track to help cool the car down. I think letting the car cool down with the ice was one of the best things i could have done. After it sat for about and hour and a half i ran 15.0 then a 14.9 an hour later. I still think I should have done a little bit better but I got my goal of 14's. Here is the video. http://media.putfile.com/Ajcool2s-14-Second-run

Yeah I dont know what happened to my trap. My last time at the track I ran a 15.01 @ 93.5. I dont know what would make my trap low like that. I had sawblades and falken zeix 512 which really need to be replaced asap.

Thanks. I read alot of the info you posted on here and learned alot. When I saw your times and the mods you had I figured if you can do it I can too. Hopefully I can get 14.8 the next time out.

Thanks. I think doing a burnout had something to do with it. Usually I dont do a burnout at all but this time I decided I would try it. The first time I did a burnout I got a 2.16 and ran a 15.1 then a 2.161 and ran a 15.06. When I didnt do one i got 2.31, 2.27 and 2.30.

Yeah thats what I heard too and I never did it until those three runs. I tryed to avoid the waterbox but one of my tires always went through. So I decided to do the burnout to burn off anywater that might have been on that tire.

thats a raging discussion with people on either side that dont understand the other side. but i like the burnout style

you make my 60' look embarrassing. a 2.25 as opposed to your 2.14, i might need some pointers in the future.

so how do you go about torque braking? ive tired to spin my tires but i can't get it to work right. so what you hold the brake give it gas then let off the brake or you use the ebrake?

Basically what I did was go through the waterbox just a little bit and got one of my tires wet. Then I stopped and held the brake to the floor and held the gas at 1500rpm. Then floored it and let go of the brake at the same time. Other people may do it different though. My ebrake doesnt work so that one reason I do it this way. Also that was the first time I've ever made smoke come from my tires like that.

Did you put it in first gear to keep it from shifting during the burn out?

It's great fun and it can't hurt to do a burn out - even on streets.

LOL Thanks. Dont worry I am going to beat it this weekend after I get my car dynoed and tuned. Right now the record in the DC section is 14.8 for an n/a auto and thats what I'm shooting for.
