First time at the track, looking for suggestions
Well this friday I may take my Alti to the track. I get crazy wheelspin/hop in first gear on hard accel, is there anything I can do to alleviate this when I go to the track? Also any suggestions/input on how to get the best times on a fwd high output vehicle like this would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
I can't think of anything that is easy to do. I mean, you need to do some actual modifications to your car to aleviate your problem.
Traction bars, stiffer motor mounts, slicks, etc.
But as far as ghetto mods that might help before this Friday... get some heavy duty zip ties from Home Depot and strap down your front springs. That will keep your front end from rising on the launch. I got the zip ties that have the 175lb tensile strength. They were 36" in length I think. I wrapped them around as many times as I could around as many coils as I could. I put about 5 of them on each spring. They have been holding on several hard launches over the past year!
Also, you can go to Auto Zone or Adv Auto and get the rear spring rubber spacers. Install them inbetween the coils on your rear spring. That will help to keep your rear from dropping on the launch.
The more weight you can keep over your drive tires, the better. You might want to lower your tire pressure a little. That MIGHT help. I would only drop your pressure enough so you can start to see your tires squatting a little bit. That will increase the contact patch on your tires. I wouldn't drop the pressure below 20psi though. Safety will become an issue.
As for other ghetto mods, you can strap or chain your motor from moving during the launch. That will help wheel hop! If you strap it down really well, your motor won't move an INCH on the launch. That will help wheel hop out a lot!
If you aren't willing to do any of these mods, then launch your car a little softer and hopefully you can hook up a little bit. If it was me, I'd put slicks on it, tune the suspension and have that sucker doing 1.9 60 foots with a stock Altima.

I love those ideas, though I probably won't do any of them THIS TIME around. I do actually have a motor mount insert that I can put in, however I don't have the time to do that before friday.
I appreciate all of your advice!!
