3.0L vs 3.5L
3.0L vs 3.5L
I trying to decide whether to go with the 3.0l swap (exact same engine but find one with low miles) or do the 3.5l? I know performance says 3.5l but is there that big of a difference? What about relaibility, I've heard a lot people having to keep playing with it to get it running right? Any comments about this? Thanks

haha yeah now i want more power, I think it would be cheaper to do a 3.5 then SC my DEK. It seems sc cars don't put down good times. Maybe ill go Nos looks like autos do well with nos and only use it when needed.

The 3.5 cant be done wit 1500 otherwise there would b a lot more people wit it. Its like 3000 to have it reliably done by someone experienced and not to mention the xtra cash u gotta dish out 4 headers and cams which r higly recommeneded. Sure u can have someone do it 4 less but do u really want a half *** job, on a mod that will cost soo much to fix if it aint done perfect?

Just because it costs less than $3000 doesn't mean the job was half-assed.
Reliability? No problems here
Headers and cams are your choice. Not needed to do a 3.5 swap.
Don't make assumptions about the workmanship of others unless you have proof that our workmanship is "half-assed".
you can do the swap for under 1 grand.if you can read,follow directions, and get the right tools you can do it yourself.as for the reliability of the 3.5 it is the exact same as the 3.0 with the same miles. THAT SHOULD END IT!!!! IMHO.

when it comes to working on cars, there are people who work at home in their garages that i would trust more than taking it in somewhere else.
3.5 is just as reliable as the 3.0 and you wont have tranny problems if you dont drag race. And yes, it can be done for less than a grand. 3.5 is the best mod you can do to a 4th gen for the money period. You can pick up a good 3.5 for 700-ish$. Junkyard VQ's are cheap.

I say go 3.5 and spend the $3k to get it done right the first time...HS headers for $550, beefier clutch for $350, Raxles for $300, maybe lower mileage 5spd tranny for $600, VQ35 for like $900....you gotta pay to play y0!
