Maxima vs '92 Integra

This kid wants to race, will go to local track in a few weeks. What can I expect from this integra? It has all bolt ons: headers, intake, exhaust, and I think that's it. I have a short ram intake only. Both 5spd, not sure about the kid's driving, but I can get a 6.58 with my max. Any predictions? I know this integra is hella light, so it might be damn fast. Any ideas?

6.58? Are you not going to run the quarter?

I think you should be alright, but enough with the bench racing get out there!

I am assuming this '92 has the motor that CAME with the car, if not please specify what motor he is running.

Pretty sure it's the 1.8 I will race him, just want some predictions. Want to know if anyone has had any experience with these integras.

The 1.8 in the 92 integra is Wizeak! Probably doesn't have more than 140 hp. You wouldn't have a problem with the GSR teg's either if you're able to launch correctly.

GS-R? GS? RS? Type-R? What is it? It all matters on the VTEC though. If it's the DOHC Non-VTEC, you'll pretty much dominate him since he's easily a 16.5-17 second car, lightweight or not. Add on VTEC, and I/H/E, and you could be seeing his tail-lights at your passenger's side door. I've seen some run low-15's w/ just bolt-ons.

AND PRAY he isn't VTEC w/ Hondata. Oiy, had a run in w/ a Hondata'd RSX-S, crazy shiet.

True dat....

Also, For the 92 tegs... LS/GS = 1.8 Liter and weaker, GSR = 1.7 Liter.... so yeah, the ls,gs, etc... does matter.

You might want to list your mods man. If you're a stock auto then just forget about it. Stick to racing the SOHC VTEC civics for now.

you should know by now that 0-60 is not any good for a real time match up.
Its just the acceleration, and the acceleration and the 1/4 time do not go hand in hand, although there is some correlaiton. Got it, I am a noob too but just tired of people talking about 0-60, i am just getting sick.

After having a a few run-ins with a 3rd Gen Prelude with a B18C5 under the hood, anything is possible with these Honda guys.

After being into the honda scene for years, one thing i have learned is you really need to find out exactly what engine the car has. Motor swaps run rampant in hondas, everyone knows that. It sounds like this guy has a LS which is 140hp. You should take him easily I would think, specially since his original motor (if thats what he has you hope) probably has high miles. A very small amount of 2nd gen LS integras have a lower gear ratio trans and are noticeably quicker.

3rd gen GSRs with boltons.... you better watch out, will be close with any year maxima that is near stock, those cars get down in the 14s pretty well.

H22 preludes... not all they are cracked up to be, heavy as hell, im more worried with GSRs or swapped hatches hehe

Oh and if you do beat him, ive got a 2nd gen integra for you to race hehehe. I love my new 6 speed 5.5 max to death, but it cant touch my little 1.6 liter NA integra.

Before i get flamed for being a honda lover, that chapter is over, my teg is about to be for sale.

Say what you will about Hondas (I hate them too) but they can do 10-second runs naturally aspirated. No Maxima or even Nissan can do that

The fastest New Zealand N/A (All Motor) vehicle is a Honda Civic and he's running an 10.9s

The most reputable enigne reconditioners in NZ (Kelford Cams) reckon they have managed to get 175bhp / litre out of the 2.2litre VTEC engine and are revving up to 10.5k rpm and since he's running the 10.9s I guess he must be telling the truth. CRY CRY CRY CRY...
