Quick Question about dowel pins in 3.5 cams

Quick Question about dowel pins in 3.5 cams

Im almost done with my 3.5 swap i have drilled 3.5 cams and im using 3.0 dowel pins but they are abit too short for the outer grear. What is the solution im afraid to install the outer grear because the pin is too short. So for the people who did a 3.5 swap please step in thx

home depot has 1/4" steel rods or you could use tension pins 1/4"

I welded my pins in, so they did not need to be in the cam that deep.
