Im almost done with my 3.5 swap i have drilled 3.5 cams and im using 3.0 dowel pins but they are abit too short for the outer grear. What is the solution im afraid to install the outer grear because the pin is too short. So for the people who did a 3.5 swap please step in thx

Sorry to say, your pins aren't long enough because you drilled the dowel pin holes in the cams too deep.

It is possible to get longer dowel pins from an industrial nut and bolt supply house, but if you drilled all the way through the cam shoulder I would be worried about the pins eventually migrating deeper into the hole and out the other side, causing a rub against the cam bracket. If you get longer pins make sure they have to be forced in with an interference fit.

Well i make the dowel pins from bits its actualy stronger material then the once made from nissan so they are exacly 6mm which is the same size of original dowel pin, when i put the regular dowel pins in the 3.5 cam it fit pretty tightly im woundoring if that would be enought, the only way i can thing of making the new dowel pins with an interface fit would be if i get a size of 6.2mm. If you have any suggestions please let me know
