New 4th Gen Pics after wash and wax. 56K NO
Here some new updated pictures after a drop, red/clear tails and AE mod. and a 4 hour wash and wax job. It decided to get cloudy when I got done washing
. Let me know what you think. I still cannot decide what my next mod will be. I think I am gonna smoke my OEM bumper lights and put those back in. Give me some opinions on what to do next. Thanks for looking.

I am dropped on D2s like 2.2-2.5 inches I think the rear a bit lower. You can notice that it looks like it in the rear.
Great AE Headlight job, looks really good! Also, I really reccomend you do the DTM Taillight mod, that would go really well with your front lights, it looks really good on White 4th Gens. If your not getting rims anytime soon, I'd paint your stockers like a real light gunmetal grey, that would look awsome!

Yea I wanna get rims sometime and also a BBK upgrade. I am thinking bronze or gunmetal color.

Are you experiencing any of these problems? Have you had your car corner balanced? some ppl say that will really help but I havent done it.

You will only notice a difference with corner balancing/weighing on the track only.. street wise, I hardly doubt you can tell a difference.
At the height you are, I would recommend 2 1/2 in the front and 3- 3 1/2 in the rear...you are more or less the same ride height I am
pic of car lowered with sawblades

The front I didn't want to0 stiff cause the bumps/cracks on the road would be killer ( mags would take a beating, windshiled will eventually crack)..
but don't go too soft or else you will bottom out.
The rear, I had it slightly stiffer then the front so it would help during turns and also, usually, 2 people in back, so, if soft, car once againm, will bottom out, also, I always have stuff in the trunk...
or you can go by Trial and error... test until you like the settings///
The DTM Tails really only effect the blinkers during the day. At night the're just as bright, but the light doesn't spread through the lens as much. Kinda hard to describe. Maybe I'll get a video of them during the day, then at night. IMO it's a very worthy mod, & would look really good on your car in particular.

What settings are you running on and do you have any preload on your springs?

I dropped the rear more cause if i gave it equal setting on the springs all around, the front would be lower ( because of the weight of the engine)

Sorry for all the riceness. It is all going. I just have to figure out which bulbs will be best. I wanna go with sylvania silverstars clearance bulbs but I do not know how they will look since they are like multicolored during the day and amber at night.
I'l have engine and interior pics soon...Did anyone notice the very small mod I did to my taillights? Clean, simple and nice I think. Hope you all like it.
I did notice
I knew there was something different about them!! Good Job!

"New 4th gen pics after wash and wax." Sorry man, but the title was generalized. I just wanted to post pics of my car so the other members could see my Max and what I have done. The thread title said nothing about only your ride. I kept it in the member's rides section and looked for a title where I would not post off topic. I was not trying to steal your limelight, just a proud father wanting to share, but I could not start my own thread yet. BTW, you're Max is very nice. I like the drop and especially the color. That was the color I had wanted, but found the silver one instead after looking for 10 months. I wasn't trying to hijack you though, my apologies.
Oh yeah, what kind, hardness and size of tires are you running? That is probably the reason you are pushing through turns. From the pic, your tires look more like a touring tire. That could be the reason they are breaking free. Touring tires are a harder compound and do not have a good enough tread pattern to stick well with higher weight in gforces for turns. Also the brand matters, Godyeas and Nittos perform much better then the equivalent in a cheaper tire from a discount store. The hardness odf the compound is obvious, the harder the tire, the less sticky it is and the easier it will give in hard cornering. Your coilover settings may be part of the prob, but only a small part. They will definately be bouncy though, I have them on my racecar and they beat the crap out of you on the street. Mainly because of the strong spring used in coilover systems. They are designed for track use, therefore not offering bump absorbsion as much as handling and weight transfer for corners. Get yourself some z rated tires. I got a set of Falkens for my stock 16s (you can see them in the pics) from Sears autocenter for about $75 each. Now I can shoot into turns, even with a stock suspension, without give. I hope this offered some help in your turning issue (I was not trying to be a d***, just wanted to help)... and sorry for the long posts.

My tires are Bridgestone Turanza LS-H. Tire size 215/55/16 93H. Yea they are a touring tire I guess. The guy I bought the car from drove the interstate everyday to his work.
I feel like I have way to much understeer in my car. One guy I talked to last night said I want the rear springs stiffer then the front.
i got the silverstars, they look real nice during the day and give off good light at night, car looks good, i wish i could drop my car that low but in new england thats just askin for trouble. the car is in great shape

Yeah, those are touring tires, also "H" speed rated so they are not very soft compound either (easier to slide under greater g's in corners), you can goto a 225/50/16 they will be a touch wider and will not rub, but they are the same height (sidewall) as what you have so do not worry about profile difference. Actually... look at my pics, I have that size tire on my car (if you want reference). Bridgstone are a decent tire though, made by firestone. They a good all around tire. But still a touring versioon. you need a "z" rated tire. not because you plan on exceeding speeds of 160, but because of the softer compound. but be warned, with a soft compound comes quicker tire wear, especially under hard cornering. Its a toss up of what you want.
As for the springs, yeah you do want the stiffer in the rear because of the weight transfer for corners (engine weight composition). You would think that the stronger should be in the front to hold the engine's weight, but Physics is a funny thing (think of a glass of water on a table in place of your seats. It would try to goto the opposite corner when you turn the car. The same goes for the weight transfer). Do you just have the coil overs, or do you have stress bars too? (STB) Front AND rear bars will help. But also keep in mind you do not have a rear sway bar, but the front does (I did not see you list one if you do). That is where your understeer comes from. This makes the suspension unequal, granted we have that Engineering marvel that Nissan decided to use instead, but that is not optimal for performance handeling. Don't get me wrong it does great for all of us in the states with minefield style roads (Youngstown, Ohio). But a rear independent (like on 3rd gens) with sway bar would be best for performance. Sorry AGAIN for such a long post, But hope I could help.

I am almost in need of new tires so I need to start looking and figuring out what I want. I looked for Z rated tires but could not find any. Maybe you can point me to some. What about a Y or W rated tire? I just want some good handling I like to take turns fast but I have to much understeer. I do have a FSTB and RSB. So the only thing it can be is the rear springs that need tightening.
I am actually gonna adjust my rear springs and make them stiffer tomorrow afternoon. As of right now the rears are just a hair stiffer then the front. I know there probably no way to tell me how much to tighten them but maybe you can give an estimate?
Thanks for all the help. Sorry for being an *** for your pics in my thread.
A 'Z' rated tire is the same as a 'ZR' or 'Y', 'W' is a touch harder compound and is a medium between performance and touring. I have Falken Ziex ZE-512's from Sears Autocenter. Summit Racing, tirerack.com, and even Ebay are good enough to find tires.
BF Goodrich Eagle T/A; Goodyear Eagle Ultra; Kumho Ecsta ASX, MX, SPT, or Supras; Sumitomo HTR; or Dunlop Sport SP are a few to name that are good choices.
Your understeer is from needing a rear sway bar. Even though you have the F and R STBs (they do help a lot though, do not misunderstand my point). But because of not having rear independent suspension that is your problem for the most part (that contraption Nissan used on the straight axle helps normal drivers, but people like us it does not). If you plan on running AutoX, then have the suspension tuned, but just for the street you can probably set it yourself. I cannot tell you how much to adjust the rear because of the differences in coilover kits (thread widths on the sleeve) and spring rates (1-360 turn can = more or less tension) but it can go a little stiffer in the rear.
As for the pics, its cool it was my bad. Since I can post new threads now, I will start a similar one when I get new pics of my car and I hope you will post some new pics of your ride on it (as well as any other member obviously).
