Farewell maxima.org members

I am just saying goodbye to all of you Maxima enthusiasts. I am getting a 2006 Volvo S60R. I would have loved to keep the Maxima for a long time, but I could not deal with all of the repairs. They were too time consuming and my warranty is about to run out. Once again, thank you to all of you members. This site really helped me out with my car and kept me up to date with mods and stuff like that. Goodbye and good luck with your Maximas.

Good luck, man. Lots of people ditching lately it seems.

The R-car is a fantastic drive, so have fun with that. Post pics of the new ride if you want.

However, if you thought the repairs on your Maxima were bad, then why are you buying a Volvo? They are the highest maintenance cars made....still nice nevertheless.

You obviously were unlucky enough to get a 6th gen Maxima that was less reliable than average. Maybe you will be lucky and get one of the Volvo S60s that is more reliable than average. If so, then your new Volvo will be almost as reliable as your old Maxima.

Just kidding. Well, sort of. Good luck with your Volvo.

Good luck with your S60R. Have you visited the S60 forum?

Volvo!!!!!!! Man my wifes friend can't keep hers out the shop. Volvos use to be built like tanks and lasted forever. Now the Ford owns them, reliablitiy has taken a turn for the worst. The S40 has been the worst in terms of problems. Good luck man, but hey the 6 gen has dropped the maxima from being above average reliabilitiy to just average relibility in Consumer Reports mag

Huh? I read it is the Armada and QX56 that's pulled Nissan's reliability down, not the Maxima.

But I don't put any credibility at all in Consumer reports when it comes to cars. They're vacuum cleaner and luggage testers, not car people.

Well this is depressing!!

After so many problems with old cars, I decided I only wanted to have a car that was under warranty. But with each piece I buy for my max I hope the reliability will hold up so I get my money's worth.

Only time will tell....

No as far as Nissan corp. as a whole, yes the Armada, Titan, and QX56 brought down NISSAN quality rating, but the 6 gen by itself received a average reliability rating as compared to previous generation maximas being listed as above average......Do I love nissan yes, will I buy another maxima, not unless it goes back to being built in JPN.......
