Earls socketless hose is a pain in the a**s to put together

Trust me if you've never used socketless hose you'll find pushing the fittings into the hose ends is next to impossible. I did a google search and most guys feel the same. I looked in the phone book and found a local hose shop and they used their special device and assembled all the pieces for $25.00. This was money well spent. I replumbed the fuel lines with 3/8" hose. I didn't want to remove the fuel rail at this time so I used an earl 5/16 compression x 6AN adapter fitting on the fuel intake side. I had to cut the rail end back to get rid of the tube bead which holds the rubber hose. Also I placed fitting adaptors for the fuel pressure gauge and a fuel filter mounted in the engine bay.
On the return side I reversed the oem pressure regulator so the tube faces forward for access and also cut off the beading.. I took the regulator to 3 shops to weld on a male 6AN fitting but no one would do it because they all said the heat would affect the regulator internals. Again I used the 5/16 compression X 6AN adaptor
I was able to find a nismo regulator with male 6AN fittings. I couldn't access the metal tube on the gas tank so I had to make a special connection, a 5/16 barb X male 6AN fitting used on some fords made by aeromotive. It's the only brand of this special fitting and I got ripped off at summit for $31.00 EACH. I cut the rubber line to the tank and pushed the 5/16 barb into the 5/16 rubber tank hoses. I would rate this job a pain in ths a*s.
