265whp 255wtq NA - all accessories

Just copied and double posted from the Maxus dyno thread.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=475602

This is all I managed to do (blue line) but with all accessories ON the car this time (AC, PS, etc.)

The red line is my old record which was without A/C, PS, etc.

Probably never. I just want to know why it's called secret sauce? Is he putting some sort of liquid into his intake manifold?

Probably not. He just modified or made an intake manifold that keeps building power instead of falling off.

I understand that part but still doesn't answer why it's called "Secret Sauce" unless he wants to open a business called Secret Sauce which actually sounds kind of cool.

I froze the manifold in liquid oxygen and thawed it in beer.

So the answer is hidden in post somewhere? Could you hint to what time period it was made? Gotta find that post because the 3.5 is seating in the garage.

There isn't one magical thing that I did to get to this point. In order to make this much power you have to read up and follow all of the posts I have made for the past 3-4 years. It's just a progression like everyone elses projects. I have posted EVERYTHING I have done in that time except for the specifics of what I did to the manifold. You can't just slap one on and make a bunch of hp you have to do a bunch of other things along with it to really make it worthwhile.

All of the complaining people are doing and those trying to scheme to reproduce them behind my back only makes me want to stop sharing anything.

Also, as I have stated dozens of times over, I will build an engine or a car for anyone that wants. But I have yet to see anything other than people who are talking about doing so.

I can only search your posts to about 1 year prior.

What about the other 99 pieces of the puzzle that might mean just as much if not more?

still no cams? That is crazy how power holds on till 7500rpm. Even with my cams and mildly massaged IM, I still have a bottleneck somewhere. Your peak hp is even later than mine by a few hundred rpm. What air intake and MAF (anything before the IM) parts are you using, if you can share?

Now there is a dip @ 6200 that I will try to resolve. I believe it is related to the VTC timing. Just when I think I've got this stupid ECU figured out, it throws something else at me.

I only know of 2 so far, maybe 3. If you want to share 99 of them go ahead, I got time to waste.

They all exist outside of the IM. Why is everyone trying to concentrate on that one single piece?

Nice work. I like the curve and the torque curve is as flat as I've seen a VQ. This is an example of a properly tuned VQ35.. All the bolt ons in the world wont do as well as a good tune, and by tune I don't just mean a/f. A complete puzzle(as complete as can be at this point) comes from all the small things...Correct?

Lookes like you made a boo boo connecting the rpm signal wire = data loss.. ..

Runfiles?

Nobody is concentrating on the IM. We all know you have other mods.

I think you have a I/H/E/P, vafc2, and did some changes to the IM. That should be good for 265whp. You probably did some other small things too.

Perhaps a lot of the people asking what he's done to the manifold haven't actually had a chance to look inside one? Once you've seen the FWD VQ35 manifold in person it becomes evident how to make improvements, well IMHO anyways.

NmexMax: "...torque curve is as flat I've seen a VQ." You mean on a VQ35 I assume? Because you've certainly seen a flat VQ30 curve... hehe

Matt: do you have the run files?

Also note the low barometric pressure there. The humidity is incorrect though. Everyone ran below expectations except Brad and I. The operator seems to think his dyno reads lower than other Dynojets but I'm not going to dwell on that.

Why so rich for a NA application? I'd tune too 13.5 across the board.

Who came up with the idea that a straight a/f line is best for performance? It seems a bit oversimplified to me. Shouldn't one take the ignition advance curve into consideration as well?
