from my experience, there are very few people around with 5.5 GXEs, i posted a while back about it, and only a couple of people spoke up. IIRC, they said the 5.5 GXE actually still had 16s instead of 17s, no fog lights, but im not 100% sure

I have an 03 GXE. Came with no fogs, no mud guards, no white gauges, suspension was different, interior was different, but I took care of all that. Put fogs in myself, mud guards, lowered it, put leather in, all except the white gauges, working on that. I was mainly concerned about the 3.5 engine and wanted to savd a little $. Just figured I could do most of the work myself.

Interior

My mine concern was just getting the 3.5, all the models had the same engine. I just did not feel like paying more for suspension, fogs, etc. when all of it could be done for half of the cost on one's own. Plus you get self gratification in doing the work. Forgot to mention that the GXE did not come with a spoiler either, put that on myself as well. Some of the mods is a bit of work, but it was fun doing it.

i wanted to do things this way, i really did. but of course i couldnt (easily) do heated seats, wheel, auto climate, etc myself, and i wanted to have those features too. i doubt thats something you worried about in CA sno, haha. but yeah id agree this is the best way to do things, you save a lot of money and you can do whatever you want, white leather, red leather, you arent limited.

True, I forgot about that. I kind of like them or they have just grown on me.

Snolife - I see it in your car, but I thought I remembered hearing that the GXEs didn't come stock with the raising/lowering armrest on the console. Did you install that yourself?

Also, I don't think anybody's mentioned it yet, but the stereo is a single-din unit. This is actually a lot better than in an SE or GLE if you want to go aftermarket because you already have the GXE trim kit in there instead of having to shell out another $100 for it.

EDIT: BTW, your car looks awesome, man! And what wheels am I looking at on there???

Yeah the car came stock with the raising/lowering armrest, or at least mine did. The wheels are Mille Miglia VR's, 18s, the new ones after the EVO 5's.

Yeah, to me heated seats and wheel were not important here in Southern Cali.

:word: IIRC, only 5% of 02-03 Maxima production were GXE models. That said, I have only seen about 3-4 GXEs (in the 4+ years I have owned my 02 SE), with the vast majority being SEs with a number of GLEs. Usually, lacking both the spoiler AND fogs give them away.

The GXE has no foglights. The stock headunit is double din. It comes stock with the raising/lowering armrest.

Here is my GXE:

Here's a GXE on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Condi...QQcmdZViewItem

It does have the double din in dash 6CD player, maybe that was an option for GXE's?

The headunit is a single-disc player.
