Actually looks like my front motor mount is possibly on it's way - has a bit too much play when I load up the motor. It's got 40k on it, and wondering how hard the previous owner beat it.

Anyway, think it might be a warranty item? And would that be covered under powertrain, since that is all I have left for a warranty?

Remember the guy whose engine sounded like it had crickets??

didn't someone eventually come to the conclusion that it was a bad engine mount??

I forget the details, but it came to mind, cuz I remember all the problems he had trying to get Nissan to fix it...
It was a while back, so I dunno if it's "findable" with search..

I would

compare it to others before replacing. There is alot of play in the mounts from day one. It 'looks' worn out or that it may have alot of movement factory fresh, so to speak.

Just weld the block to the chassis, no more problems!

I think that was me!!!

I had a cracked rear engine mount replaced under warranty.. I had these squeaky noises coming from somewhere near the engine & when Nissan checked it out, They said it was a broken engine mount & fixed it the next week!!
I had to drive around another week with the thought of the engine falling off at any moment...

could they be bad and not make any noise just flex too much?

Umm.. I'm not sure!!!

Here is a way to check!!!! You'll need someone to help you (The purpose of the helper is to Either watch the engine or press the gas)...
Open your hood.
Pull up your e-brake all da way...
Put you car in drive and tap on the gas just a little so the wheels don't peel but press it enough so you'll see the front of the engine rise up a little...
If it rises too much, Then your front engine mount is either bad or broken...
Now put the car in reverse and tap the gas the same way...
This time the rear of the engine should rise a little.
It's the same as the front!!... If it rises too much, then it's bad or broken...
The engine should rise up to a certain point... If it keeps on rising or enough to touch the hood, get it replaced!!!
