Pinging Pinging and more pinging

My max pings in the summer with A?C on at 3500 rpm. I run 92 octane Shell V-Power fuel. 104k miles but I keep it tuned and ready. Help with my frustration needed. Sunoco 104 for $6.79/gl!!! Ouch!?

did you check for codes even though the light wasnt on?

the knock sensor code is silent, who knows maybe you need a new knock sensor for preventing pinging.

I did check for codes and none were present. I changed fuel type to Chevron premium and added a bottle of Lucas octane boost. Taking a trip this weekend and will see how it runs. Thanks for the input. KS at AutoZone list for 267 bones. I hear it is a bloody battle to change. It beats throwing out 1000 bones for labor though. Anybody got a better price they know of?

A thousand dollar for labor? WOW...I paid wholesale price for the knock sensor itself (OEM from Nissan dealer) and paid $250 for labor to change that and also the Vehicle Speed Sensor (which was like $60 I think, wholesale price again...)...but a thousand bucks? I hope you were just making things bigger than they really are.

Please explain how a new knock sensor would fix a pinging issue...
