Ignition switch update
Ignition switch update
As was noted in a previous thread, the common problem on the Maxima ignition switch is not a big deal. For those of you that have the problem of the switch not making good contact when you try to start it and sometimes you have to really twist the key hard and fast, just replace the switch.
I checked with Auto Zone and it was $49 and Advance was $47. The Nissian dealer list is $31 and I paid $25.40 plus tax because I got it through another garage.
My 14 year old grandson took it apart and was done with it in about 20 minutes. It works great.
I will try to post a couple of pictures that he took. One is of the covers that he removed and another is looking up at the switch assembly from the floor.
Well forget that, it says I can not post attachments.
