Custom Y Pipe with installed pic goodness

Been after a Y for some time now, finally got A into G

Heres my old factory y pipe ... with a massive hole in the flex section (would explain the turbo spool sound I was hearing) You can clearly see how it is a badly flowing design with the exhaust gases colliding due to the pipe bends. Glad I went custom build as the pics of the US factory Y look very different to my New Zealand one.

And heres the new Y Pipe goodness... 2" pipes off the engine to a 2.5" Y + flex

What does it sound like? Real good, gives a bit deeper tone but nothing loud, there is a tiny bit of rasp at 5000rpm/WOT.

On my test hill where i normally get 85km's odd I'm now closer to 95km's.

[Explainer: The oil showing on the pan in the last pic isn't as bad as it looks, just surface film.]

New Zealand doesn't require pre-cats, unlike the U.S. version. That's why yours looks different from the U.S. version. You could have probably used any y-pipe on the market, but hey, you already got one.

Yep it feels less restricted on the straight it just keeps pulling where before it felt restricted.. As above I hit about 95kms on my test hill before only 85kms

But If I ordered one from the US it would take 4-6 weeks for delivery(and cost millions) and if it had the bee's in a can effect or bad welds I'd be stuck with it. The Y above is a knock off of the Stillen anyways

Real good, when you start the car you get a little growl sound and normal RPM's the note is a 'bit' deeper, @ WOT it sounds like its flowing really well with slight rasp at 5000rpm. =

Nice pics! BTW, you need to replace your oil pressure sending unit.
