the henessey viper 800 is insane. i downloaded some track races of it and wow that thing is disgusting fast.

Damn!! How much faster can you get? That Venom Viper does 0 - 60 in 2.43 seconds. Thing probably gets 2 miles per gallon too.

Btw, why do they call it a funny car anyway? I don't find it funny. When I watch the races, I don't bust out laughing. So, I don't get it.

They call it a funny car because its not really a car. Back in the days they looked more like real cars.

...imagine "that car is fast, theres something funny about it" Funny as in they arent telling you everything.

I am not going to start a flame here,

and I dont have a hard on for mustangs, but I can tell you a LOT faster car for a LOT cheaper. It is a green twin turbo 5.0 Built by Dennis Lugo in Orlando where I live at. It ran 8.7s@165 and they frikin drove it there!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Now that is impressive. with only 5.0 liters! Of course there are some 7 secont rx7s around that are ahh 79 cubic inches!!

Thats if your just talking 1/4 mile. But we all know a couple of Skylines running around that can push 200mph not to mention some supras yada yada....I just cant belive he needs that much motor to get that power.

That's what I always say about Dodge and the V10. They are so corny. I loved the days of the Lotus Esprit Turbo with the Inline 4 that made 300 HP and went from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. And it still got 27 mpg on the highway.

Funny that you mentioned it, there is a Black Lotus cruising around here which I see about twice a month.. An old retired Navy Captain cruises it... I can't wait till I retire.. 10 years to go..
