Needles in gauge cluster...
Yeah you need to do an LED mod. I'm doing it soon...when i have some money and time. You need to run LED's pointed behind the needles and sand off the orange paint. There is plenty of LED threads around. Look into the how-to's and you can find links to how to do the LED work.
The prodecure is fairly cheap but knowing how to work with LED's and taking apart the dash and all is needed. It's not as simple as Fang may have made it seem but is do-able.
By taking the needles off and putting different ones one you also run the risk of putting the needles back in the wrong spot. They need to be turned to come off and its very important to get them back to where they were before. Do not take them off it's not a good idea.

Thanks... after hearing this I may just move onto the next mod... it doesn't sound like it is worth all the trouble - even though I despise the orange needles - why couldn't they just make them red...
You can also get some indiglow needles from Justin if you wanted to go that route. http://importcarpartsplus.com/
I've seen a few of these installed, and they look pretty good.
