60K mile check-up

Has anyone reached this milestone? I am quickly approaching. What should I expect as far as cost and maintenance?

if you read in your maxima manual you dont have to change anything but yout tranny fluid. i call my dealership and its was $180 total flush and change the fluid. mine is almost there. you might also want to change your fuel filter while your at it. other than that nothing else to be done than the regular stuff.

Look on nissan's website, changing the tranny fluid is OPTIONAL for the entire interval up to 105,000mi according to the site...im never going to waste my money on that.

OPTIONAL unless needed. some cars need the change before others.

cool! i just broke 60k last month on an '04. i was wondering about the tranny fluid, too. i had it done at 30k, so i logically assumed that it was an "every 30k" kinda thing.

maximus: i think its more of a every 60k thing. just check and make sure that your fluid isnt black or there is a burn smelt to it. by the way the 30k was optional the 60k is more a must. well it also depends on yout tranny fluid.

as for the rest of us. changing our tranny fluid is really all up to how hard we drive. if we drive like a lunnie then we should change it every 60k interval. as for me i rather have it change out then have the tranny crap on me after my warranties expire and found out that because i didn't change it that i am to blame for. i rather be safe than sorry. 200 bucks is wayyyy cheaper than a new tranny.

04 max, closing in on 60K

already changed pads and rotors

so after reading this, just need to flush out the tranny basically?

ok.. one more thing.. manual tranny and auto tranny had diff component so the fluid being filted is diff too.. the auto has a filter system inside(correct me if im wrong) and the manual is just gear oil.a manual fluid can last wayyy longer than an auto. For a manual tranny all you have is gears. for a auto tranny you have pumps, filter etc. just some info.
