Take out the headlight assembly; this has been argued many times if it needs to come out, but imo its the easiest way to access them after you do it and ive done it so many times that i can have them off in 15 minutes.

Where did u get the HID fogs if you dont mind me asking and for how much

Removing the headlight assembly requires removing the front bumper. I gotta call BS on 15 minutes to complete that job.

The fogs are relatively easy to access from the engine compartment. You may need to remove the air intake if you don't have a CAI.

The bulbs are held in with a wire spring. Really easy to push to the side to release. Shouldn't take you to long to do it.

If you've done it as many times as me then, okay i exxaggerated, it took me about 20-30 minutes.

Pop hood, take out all of those little clips on the black cover, then the 2 holding the grill onto car, under car take clips off of splash guard, then on both sides there is one clip and one screw on the end of the bumper, then slightly pry off the splash guard on both sides, now stick your hand a 12mm and take out the 2 screws on both sides of the bumper and the bumper is off! now use the same 12mm hex to take out 5 screws that hold the headlight...the right lamp you will have to take off the plastic cover and then take.....now there are 2 on top, 2 on bottom and one on side, and do the same for the otehr side, adn then just take it out and disconnect the harness! lol jkjkjk

I had mine installed and the installer removed the bumper to do it, but others have told me that removing the bumper was not necessary.
Here are some pics;

Here another little mod that I had done;

Good luck with your install.

There is no need to remove the bumper to change the H3s. I removed mine to get access to the headlights.

dont remove anything!!

Take out stock bulb and retainer, drill retainer cap to push cables through it. Then connect the wires. I hid my ballast and igniter behind the bumper guards and for that i did remove the grill.

That was it, nothing else.

any one have pics on the process on how to do this??? It seem ...like we are 50/50 on removing the bumper and lights....so what is the final word?

Unmatched: Are your Fogs, HID's in yellow, or just bulbs?

KAM: DO you have pics of your install, i know you are methodical in your photos step by step stuff.

Thanks

I just changes mine tonight and it took about 5 minutes per side.I do have a Fujita CAI and did not take off the bumper or headlight. All you need to do is open the hood and find the back of the fog light part and unscrew it. [passenger side you will have to take off the upper shield near the windshield so you can remove the washer fluid fill tube] Unclip the retainer thing holding in the bulb and pull it out. Pull the 'hot' wire out of the socket and replace. 15 mins tops.

I am on my 3rd burned out passenger foglight....and this time when I took out the bulb, it was fried, i mean the coating on the bulb was all melted...does anyone know what this means? A bulb on that side now lasts about 2 months and then is gone...I have yet to burn the other side out. I dont know of anything I could do. I stopped replacing the bulbs, and now Ill put the stock one in to see if it too is burned out. My car likes destroying expensive H3's

I feel your pain!! I have gone through 4 sets of silverstars and the passenger side keeps blowing and so do the OEM bulbs. So what I am going to do with the HID's is have them rewired on its own separate switch. So I cam run just the Yellow HID's with out the Headlights on. Hope fully with the right relays everything will be A -OK!

Can be done without bumper removal.

Easier if you unbolt some stuff inside :-)

Remember they go in only 1 way.

I don't mean to state the obvious...but the bulbs have to be absolutely clean when they go in otherwise they'll burn out quickly. If you've accidently touched them with your finger clean them up with an alcohol wipe. You can also try a super clean microfiber cloth.

While installing the bulbs you need to be careful the glass bulb itself doesn't scrape against the housing and either get scratched or pickup some grease.

Sorry mang, its just like swapping a bulb so I ended just plugging the stuff in and hid the extra crap in the bumper. Total instal was like 45-60 minutes. Only time i never took pics of install. But i will when i get the new bumper.

I had the same exact problem with my fog-lights. I bought a first set of super white lights and 9 days later the passenger burned out, so I go and exchange for JDM yellow and a week later they burn out, so I just got my re-fund, adn have stock bulbs in and no problem, and I am hoping to get actual 3000K HID's which would look exactly like JDM yellow, but brighter and more reliable.

I did it just like that except I broke some of little plastic things that hold the cover down Patience works it wasn't too difficult. It does look like a big obstacle.
