Yes, I started by getting a 95-99 max pod because no one makes one for the 5th gen. I then shaved the edges off and heated it with a heat gun to make it fit alittle better. Next I screwed it to the pillar and used a plastic glue to make sure that it didn't come off. Then I called a friend at the paint shop and asked her to make me a color to match the other pillars, so she did. Then I used "Pirahna Putty" and started the molding process. I have to give alot of credit to my girlfriend for her effort in the sanding process. It takes hours of sanding with patience. After you mold them together and then sand with 180 grit, you need some finishing putty. Take the finishing putty and put small amounts all over. Then once dry go back and begin sanding again. This time use like 180 and then 400 grit sand paper. And once you sand until your hands hurt you are able to paint. For texture you can roll a soft sponge paint roller over the pillar while priming and then paint. That way it will look somewhat like the other ones instead of smooth. Over all it took me and my girlfriend about a week of work starting at 6 pm and going until 1 am every night. I was trying to be ready for WIC and then it gets rained out. Oh Well!!

any chance i can send you my a pillar and you can make me a 3 guage pod? i'll pay you like $80 or so...i also have a grey interior...let me know...my nitrous is coming in very soon and i'd like my guages setup right away...

so why do you have a tranny guage and no boost guage? i haven't looked into guages a ton but i am most likely getting a boost guage, air/fuel (like the one you have), and a fuel pressure guage along with a super afc...after seeing the fast and the furious, i want my nitrous now...let me know on making the pod...thanks

 

hey mrburner, i dont usually hang aroudn the 5th gen forums considering i own a 92 max se and im selling it to buy a 4th gen max se, but just wanted to compliment you on your max....i think the body kit you currently have on it is the nicest one ive seen around...after you get the nos on then im ure itll be even nicer
