As the title says, AlpineGt66 is a thief. His name is Vladimir Aksenov, goes by the name Vlad, is 18 years old and he lives in a little town of 700 people with his parents in Welcome, MN, (http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q...,+Welcome,+MN).

The short of it is Vlad agreed to sell me a knock sensor, a timing chain tensioner, and a timing chain guide. I paid him via Paypal the money we agreed to and Vlad sent me the parts. The problem was when the parts arrived. The knock sensor did not work (he sent me the wrong one as he said that he had three knock sensors and one of which didn’t work), the timing chain tensioner was missing the plunger (making the tensioner useless), and he failed to send me the timing chain guide (yep it wasn’t even in the package). I offered Vlad two ways to remedy: 1) to send working replacement parts, or 2) to reverse the order. Vlad has agreed to neither and has kept my money stating that he was tired of dealing with this. Vlad hasn’t returned my e-mails since July 18th despite the fact that I have sent him an e-mail every day since the 18th except for one. So basically Vlad has my money and I have his non-working parts. I’m writing this because I want my money back and I don’t want to give Vlad the opportunity to steal from anyone else.

I waited to post the situation because on July 16th, Vlad was banned from Maxima.org (please see this thread for the reason why he was banned and if you are a buyer, to see what type of person you are potentially dealing with http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=482075). Today I noticed that Vlad’s account has been reactivated and that he has begun to post again on this site, hence this thread.

So I ask the mods to re-ban him. Vlad has stolen from me and I wouldn’t want anyone else from this site to be a victim of his actions. This is a person who cannot be trusted. Vlad doesn’t have respect for other people or their property and it certainly would be no loss to the Org if he wasn’t part of the site. From reading his previous posts, it would be one less headache.

And if you are considering to enter into a business transaction with Vlad, I suggest you turn and run as fast as you can. Vlad will waste your time and your money.

 

He was given a 1 week ban by Pearl96Max for being a judgemental hypocrite, calling out others in the audio forum, and many useless threads started by him that would only lead to drama. So, yes, his account is now active again and he is back posting, Ive seen him in the audio forum Im not sure about the others. Simply be reading his posts I would never have done business with him, but Im sorry you got screwed, and I hope it gets worked out one way or another. Good luck.

I'd love to see Vlad's response to this. I'd imagine his best defense would be laziness, but that would not hold up in a court of law and it shouldn't hold up here either. I'd be suprised if he even addresses this. Seems like the type of guys who runs away from his problems instead of being a man and addressing them.

Why should he have to eat any cost when you are the one that made the mistake? You sent him a non working ks,the tensioner was missing the plunger and he didn't get the tensioner guide.So all he got was junk for his $35
$35 would have been a great deal for working parts.

 

So I understand correctly, you sent him products that were not working and you expect Him to still cover shipping? If anything you should be happy hes not asking for more money for wasting his time. In actuality You should be covering the shipping for him to return them to you.

Well it seems that I finally got you to respond to me now that you risk being negatively affected. And by the way, selling parts to two people, one of which is calling you a thief, is not considered a good track record. And I think it’s hilarious that you, at 18, are calling me “son.”

First of all your earlier quote, "And also when you told me when i send you your money back and then maybe out of good soul you will send me my parts back" is a lie. I never said that I would maybe send you your parts back if you refunded my money. I said that I would send you your parts if you refunded my money. I don’t know where you’re getting the idea that I said the contrary. Show me where I said this, if you still hold to your previous comment.

Also, you originally said that you would refund the money if I returned the parts, but when I took you up on the offer you decided not to follow through with you pledge. It’s one thing to say something, it’s another to act on your word. If fact once I took you up on your offer you never replied to any of my e-mails.

I’ve copied and pasted the e-mail communication to prove my point, the fact that I was willing to return the parts for the money and how your lack of response demonstrates that you were not willing to hold to your pledge:

I never heard any response from you after my July 18th e-mail. As you can see I agreed to send you the parts, if you agreed to send me my money. But I never heard anything back. To me that means that you were not willing to send me my parts and you were just blowing smoke.

Finally, this whole business of who pays the shipping is ridiculous. But my stand is that I shouldn’t have to pay for shipping when you were the one who completely messed up the parts that you sent me. Your claim that the buyer always pays shipping is not always the case. Sure the buyer pays the shipping if they want to return the order because they no longer want the goods, but that is not the situation here. Here, the reason I’m sending the parts back is because you messed up the order. I’ve had to send other orders back when the shipper messed up the order and the shipper paid for the shipping.

So send me my $35 and I’ll send you your parts.

 

Pearl96Max that's a good point. I shouldn't have to pay to ship it back which I would be doing if he reimbursed me $35. So Vlad to cover shipping, send me $40 and I'll send you your parts.

And you are not joking about the amount of time I've spent on this whole thing. What a waste.

 

I can understand if something happened after the case or if it was a new product and needed warranty repair, but since neither is the case theres no reason why you should come out of pocket for anything. According to what Ive read you seem to have received something not working or as described. In which case the seller should reimburse the money as well as cover shipping back to him if he still wants the parts.

The fact that he wants the parts back Knowing that they dont function properly is what concerns me.

Also you said the knock sensor dosnet work, when i sent it out, it was working because i tested it and it came up to specs. So you say its not working, dosent suit me because you have no proof. The proof will be when you receive the part back and it doesn’t work. I checked the knock sensor for connectivity (which failed) and just in case I installed the knock sensor, cleared the codes and it still gave me the 03/04 code.

Funny you should mention such a scenario because that was exactly what happened when I bought the parts from you. I sent you the money and you sent me the parts. But now that you are on the other side of the fence, you think its crazy.

Actually I think everybody here would believe that I would send you the parts. I have been nothing but truthful with you and I held up my end of the agreement. You on the other hand messed up every part of the order, have been caught in two lies (see post #12 and below) and are now trying to weasel out of paying me back for your mistake. My guess would be, based on your previous posts and the fact that your not willing to remedy your mistake, that everyone reading this (myself included) would not trust that fact that you would send me my money if I sent you the parts.

And will you stop trying to make it seem like there was nothing wrong with the parts you sent me. The tensioner is missing the plunger, you never sent the guide, and the knock sensor doesn’t work.

This is a lie. The first time you asked me if I wanted my money back before I knew that you were banned from the site. I didn’t ignore it. I was trying to work with you and said that I would rather you send replacement working parts. You said you didn’t want to do this and wanted to send me my money. Then you were banned from the site, I decided that I no longer trusted that fact that you would send working parts to me, so I took you up on your offer to give me my money back. You then retracted from your offer and told me you weren’t going to respond to my e-mails anymore. And I didn’t hear from you, until I posted this thread. Once again Offer Offer Offer, but no action!

1. EP95SE - just do a Paypal claim and be done with this. Let them know that the product was not received in working condition, and that the buyer will not refund you the money. Are you a certified Paypal member?

2. NEVER buy from anyone who cannot communicate on these forums or on email at higher than a 2nd grade level.....

 

Um wow i concure with Irish! I had some probs with some )( on ebay and my cc refunded me right away. Hopefully you have a good cc company. And btw Alpine, what do you mean you THOUGHT you sent him the right parts?! lol..You must do a lot of thinking... *sarcasm*

 

Thanks guys for the suggestions on getting my money back through ebay. Unfortunately for me, this was not a transaction via ebay.

Yes, I do have his address as he lives with his parents. But, there are other means besides paying him a visit. I've been patient with him. I've tried to remedy the situation via e-mail, then I tried by posting this thread. I've called his home many times and all I get is the answering machine. And neither Paypal nor Ebay can do anything since is wasn't an E-bay transaction.

So, I've filed a Mail Fraud complaint with the US Postal Inspection Service. Vladimir, in case you're not aware of them, let me fill you in. It is a law enforcement agency that handles cases in which a seller misrepresents goods sent via US mail. If found guilty, the penalty can include a fine and/or jail time.

As you have done nothing constructive to remedy this situation and are no longer even replying to this thread, you now get to deal with US law enforcement.

As I said before, ignoring this will not make it go away.

In reality I think you are the cheapest person i have ever met, What the hell are you doing with used parts that you should buy new anyway? Oh yeah let me tell you you decided to check if the tensioner would fit? It is very hard to remove it from a crate motor nevertheless a motor in a car? And a knock sensor with 50k miles on it? Why didnt you just buy a new one? All of these parts are like brake pads, THEY WEAR OUT. So you mean to tell me when you go look for parts you dont want to go to the dealer or an autoparts store and buy new stuff from them that has a warranty? You are the *** that wants the mismatched tires in the storage and the replaced brake pads that might get you through another 5k miles. So yes I did sell you used parts with no warranty and the tensioner is from an engine with 170k miles, which I told you before you sent me the money. Also when I tested the knock sensor it came out to spec which i teseted by the procedure on this site. Also may I add I found out that a non working knock sensor does not trip the cel light by itself. So why dont you sand down the two wires on the intake manifold, and where the sensor hits the metal inside, also reset the light code. I am positive I sent you a working sensor, its not new but it did work when i sent it out, and still does i am sure. So i dont know why people think i am wrong when all i ask is that you send me the parts back and i will refund your money, If indeed the part is no longer working i will refund your money for it, also you said the tensioner is a diffrient size, so post up a pic to show me because i do not see how that is possible. I am reasonable but to a point, if people still do not agree with what i ask of you, then give us another way to sort this out. Me sending you $40 dollars without seeing any evidence to back you up is kind of wierd sounding to me.

Clearly showing he knows he screwed the buyer.. trying to blame him for buying used parts.. the tensioner may well have come off a 170k miles engine but its missing the plunger to make it useful. A faulty KS will still give correct reading when tested untul you run it at operating temperatures - still doesn't make it a working one. You should quit while your behind

You claim I lied in every thread, but this is the first you have claimed I lied. If I did lie, then why didn’t you point it out when it happened? Any why don’t you prove I lied instead of making an unsubstantiated comment.


Your absolutely right, the CEL light was not on after I installed your faulty knock sensor because the knock sensor code is a ghost code. After clearing the codes and driving the car, I pulled the codes looking for the knock sensor ghost code and 03/04 came up.

How can you claim you sent me a working knock sensor. You’re going against what you said to me in previous e-mails. So said you had three knock sensors, one or maybe two of which you admitted didn’t work when you said, “So in my opinion I believe 2 out of the 3 knock sensors work fine. And one deffentily works for sure!” And, in another e-mail you agreed that you must have sent me a non-working knock sensor when you said, “i thought i did send you a good knock sensor, must have switched them around.” But now your so positive that you sent me a working knock sensor?

Vladimir, your communication via this thread has killed your credibility. No one, myself included, trusts that you will refund my money after you get the parts.

No evidence? What about the fact that the timing chain tensioner was missing the plunger. You even admitted it in an e-mail when you said, “i believe the guide is no good, and the plunger i think might have fallen out to the bottom of the engine when i was taken it out. TO take the cover off its a pain since you need a crank tool to remove the crank pulley to get to a bolt that holds the timing cover.” And the fact that you didn’t even send the timing chain guide.

 

Fraud is Fraud and Misrepresentation is Misrepresentation. No amount of bashing the purchaser of your crap-o-la parts is going to make it go away.

Its amazing that you are creating a situation that I dont think you quite understand how serious it is over the 40 you have indeed defrauded out of the purchaser. I would give back the 40, get your useless parts back and walk away. Otherwise if the filing via the USPS goes its full cycle, you will wish you had just refunded the money versus what the USPS/Govt is going to force you to do.

Seriously... Even if you get off easy, there's no way it'll be better than just giving up $40. And regardless of whether you're right (which you're not), it's not worth fighting. All you're doing is adding on to the list of people who want to see you take a fall.

Pay up now, take a small hit, and be done with it NOW... or deal with the repercussions for months at best. You do the math.
