not as much pep as she used to have

I have a 2001 maxima gxe and she doesnt seem to have the get up and go that she used to have, there is this wierd sound now when i just barely touch the pedal that almost sounds like there is a leaf brusing against something. she has 85,xxx on her and what can I do to diagnose the sound and give her a good tuneup

ive looked by the way no leaf

maybe a new MAF will help out. Clean the TB, change spark plugs, do the Seafoam thing, check VIAS. Do this and she will come back.

I'm usually a skeptic, but I just put plugs in my '01 and I noticed a difference in her pep.

02 Here. I had a similar problem. Had the dealer clean my throttle body and had them do a entire fluid change..I.E. transmission; radiator; brake; oil etc. Also changed my plugs and got new belts at 65,000 miles. Now runs like new again.

switch to a quality air filter as well...it's the most important filter for the engine!

I recommend Fram Tough Guard...its a good quality filter with great filteration...this is all according to the guys at BITOG
