Replacing the Inner Fender on 5.5

Has anyone replaced the Inner Fender on their 5th gen?
I have a 02 Maxima with the the front driverside splash guard thats ripped...
It came off one rainy night and was hanging and I drove from Boston till Providence.... so by the time I got there the edges were worn....

I bought a replacement, but was wondering if anyone had to do it and If it was a DIY?

I am thinking of getting a Hydraulic Jack and get going...
Any thing else I need? Please advise.....
thanks
Manoj

You don't need a jack. They're just held on by screws. Just get a stubby phillips-head screwdriver.

oh.. I meant I didnt trust the jack that came with the car... thats why I figured it would be safer on a hydraulic jack...
I'm just going to have to take the wheel off right?
I saw the screws, but didnt know if there was more to it!
Also... my car is dropped on Tein SS coilovers...
Thanks pal!

Just turn the wheel to gain enough access. Should be more than enough room by going that route.

You can typically find someone selling a set if they've upgraded to a body kit or whatever.

umm.. Im not sure if we are talking about the same thing here..
I'm talking about the ones that go inside the fender which is greyish black in color, not the mudflap

Well, in your first post and thread title, you called it a splash guard. Splash guards and mudflaps=same thing. That is why everyone answered to what you posted. From your link, I beleive you're looking for the liner, right? If so, you have to take the wheel off and unsrew the screws that's holding it on. Then replace it with new one. Done.

well... I hear you guys, but the website I bought it from... www.rockauto.com called it a splash guard and so did some other body parts sellers...
Sorry for the confusion...
I didnt even think of mentioning that it wasnt the mud flaps!

Really east to do. Jack it up, take off the tire and put it in place. It attaches to the wheel fender and on the side of the front bumper. You can see where the other one came off or just reference to your other side.

Yeah, whenever I have to remove Nissan's crappy plastic fasteners, screws, or clips I always end up breaking them. If I were you, I would just try to remove all of them (broken or not) and just replace them with stainless steel screws. It's hard to find hardware at local auto places, because most of the time they don't have metric. That is why I go to local hardware stores--Lowe's or Home Depot. Good luck!

Do you have a pic of these type of screws?
I would love to take the plastic ones off and put these good ones on!
