What do you think it would take...? (5.5g vs IS350)
What do you think it would take...? (5.5g vs IS350)
What do you think it would take (mods wise) to have a 5.5 gen auto run with and possible beat the new Lexus IS350?
I have read that lexus published a 5.6 0-60 time, but no one has yet to reach that, with a best time of 6.1 seconds.
306 horse..vs our 255...
what do you guys think?

the IS350 is porkier also. Get your 5.5gen on a diet, put on every bolt on and you may have a chance as a 6spd. Although this is purely speculative in the straight line, head into a turn or go on a track and it'll be a different story.
Act of God comes to mind...

Always trying to defy physics here...FWD vs. RWD, why bother? Real life isn't a competition in a straight line. The funniest comparisons are when a guy envies another guy's g/f, and he tries to make a comparison. Everyone is like, um, yeah, whatever.
are we talking completey bone stock is350?? and you would need more then a lil diet on your car to beat one, but who wants to just win in a straight line??Take even a modded max to the track against a is350 i still say is350 wins........but you never know
A completely bone stock IS350 against a modded(turbo, supercharged, exhaust, 5.5 Gen Max would be a close race. I do know of a 5.5 Gen Max that's putting down 370whp, that's 6-speed,supercharged plus other goodies w/o NOS. I don't know, but like I said it would be close.
Here's what it will take:
1) Line up
2) Get out of car and to go D-side window
3) Make those "wind down" circle motions (even though crank windows have been obsolete for like 20 years). But he might not reconize the "press the down button motion"
4) Hit him with a spray of mace
5) Get back in car
6) Race away asap.
7) Profit in your faster car.

Ah...
sorry for the useless thread
Did a go with my cousin...
I have to say...it was actually really close...
....until we hit about 20km/h
Very quick car... loads of power out of that 3.5L
Amazing lexus quality...but it had its cons.
Firstly - its the smallest little 4 door I have sat in. No matter what seat you are in, drivers or any passenger, its a small little car. A IS350 coupe would be insanely hot though!
Second..for a fifty thousand dollar car - wouldnt you expect HID's to come standard? If our quaint little maximas did...why wouldnt a lexus??
Unfortunately his was the last one left in the city and to wait for another would take months...so he took it - it had no HID 'package', only the moonroof package.
Ah well..
A beautiful yet mean car none the less.
