I will be leaving the Maxima family, I have decided to buy a SUV I have always liked my 4th and 5th gen, but I will be moving on to other things, this means sell sell sell. I will still be lurking around here, but it has been fun and infomative.

Don't get a truck that will make you feel like you shouldn't have gotten rid of the Max.

Do you know which SUV you are going to get? My dad has to have one by August and we have been looking around. I like the Pathfinder, MDX, Grand Cherokee but we are not sure which one he will get yet. Just curious what you are looking at.

Damn yuppies I don't agree with the yuppie SUV craze, but have fun if that's what you want. I rent a ton of them for work and the best driving SUVs are Grand Cherokees. I've rented Expeditions (slug, ponderous), Tahoe (horrible brakes and handling), Explorer (horrible handling), Blazer (was GM kidding?), Montero (slug), and Escape (choppy, rattles).

I will be buying a 97/98 Outback shortly (trading in the Altima).

Thanks for the support guys

But I am leaning towards a Suburban or Tahoe. I like the extra room and since I am a tall guy (6ft) not like shaq or anything but I hate small vehicles b/c of the leg room so I need a big car or truck.

Yeah Emax I know what you are talking about we all did the same within about the same time frame. But I think I want to timker with a real muscle car. bit I will still be around talking trah, and giving you guys a hard time

If I was running 2 psi, I wouldn't want to come back. I won't blame you if you don't.

get the grand cherokee especially if you get the v8. its the fastest SUV out there and still has offroad capability. the MDX is just a honda oddyssey on stilts. Pathfinder wouldn't be a bad choice either. but i think grand cherokee would be the way to go.

But I have read everywhere that the reliability on the Grand Cherokee is HORRIBLE. Consumer Reports said something like it was the worst they have ever seen. Thats the only reason my dad doesn't have one right now. I think he will end up with a Pathfinder which is fine with me. But get whatever you want.

yeah the old grand cherokee was pretty bad. but car and driver did one of their long term tests on one of the new 2nd gen grand cherokees (40,000 miles). no problems. pathfinders are nice tho.
