when i drive with overdrive off and the car is in 3rd gear with about half or a little more than half throttle easing the pedal further as i get up the rpm range, the car seems to pull as it hits 3k and then it hits this little spot at like 3200 or 3300 where it doesnt accelerate anymore and it kinda has to break free and then itll keep going.
what it feels like to me, is that the transmission would normally shift at that point under that ammount of throttle IF it could. but since i have overdrive off, it can't, so it like pauses. But why would it be doing this?

 

something is wrong with your car, with the o/d off in 3rd gear should rev up to fuel cut 6500 rpm @ 130 mph purpose of over drive is to lock out 4th gear

 

did you even read what i wrote?
the car does rev u to 6500 but it pauses at 3200 briefly under partial throttle but while accelerating.

 

possibilty of torque converter locking up????

 

Its like it has a mind of its own.

but nothing about reving past 6500 rpms

 

Not real sure how I could be more clear. The car stops accelerating despite me pressing the gas, like a hesitation.
