Bent rims- any way to straighten at home?

Long story short, I have 3 bent rims (none while mounted on MY car) and one straight rim. I want to try to straighten them up a bit to sell them. I have a brass hammer/sledge, which should not mark or mar the inside of the rim too badly, as long as I do not wail away on them.

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

I've actually never heard of ANYONE ever straightening a rim at home. And rim Dr types won't always take them either. Find a rim Dr. first and ask if they think the rims can even be straightened.
