New 96 Max. (now with pics)

hey wasup guys
bought myself a black 96 gxe. was wondering if you guys thought i got a steal or got ripped.

it was through mutual friends. i got it down to $2500. 109,xxx miles. runs pretty smooth. interior is tan fabric, pretty clean. outside has some work to be done. driver side door was replaced so paint is diff shade and cracking. some general dings and scratches over the car to be expected. nothing major.

anyone know what i can do about the driver side door? i thought about replacing it but it seems difficult. should i get it repainted at a shop but itll prolly cost a buttload.

(p.s. theres a 3"x3" worn out sticker on the back bumper that wont come off... any helpful advice?)

took pics with my sidekick. so not that great.

Its nice, I dont think you got ripped off, I paid 4500 for my 96 but it had like 62k when I bought it a year ago.. Your interior is the same as mine (color and fabric) As for the paint I would just have it repainted, it will look so much nicer, but if you dont have the funds maybe try waxing it? As for the sticker I would try a heat gun if you have one.

not a bad deal for 100k mileage car, though if i were in your position i would have saved up a little bit more and bought a higher gen. i would have also picked up a 5 speed rather than another auto.

I think you definately got a good deal. My friend just sold her gxe for $1800 with 18x,xxx miles on it and a shot tranny. If your car was taken care of, it will last you a long time. My 96 currently has a little over 212,000 miles and still runs like it did the day I bought it. Mine is a 5 speed with leather interior and I picked it up for $4500 when it had 159,000 miles on it but the interior and exterior were in really good condition. I found a bunch of other ones with less miles but they were more expensive and most weren't close to the condition mine was in. Unfortunately since then I picked up a few more door dings and the driver seat is starting to wear more. But the max is a great car and it will last you a while as long as you take care of it.

Nah you got a very good deal. I paid $4300 for my '96 se with 128k miles. Just take care of the car and it will last another 200k miles. As for the paint job is you cant afford a good one you can go to maaco and hope you luck out and get a good paint job. I got a good one from there on my old max..my friend went the next day and his paint started chipping the next week lol.

The interior reminded me so much of my old car.
