Fitting the Stillen front lip?

I just got my 95 (97-99 front end) back from the body shop. They put a stillen front lip on the car, and its nice and tight on the sides but it is not pushed all the way back in the front. Those slits that are suposed to be pushed back into the fins in the center of the bumper are not pushed back. Has any once else ever had this problem? I feel like if I take the rivots out holding the sides back and push the front back into the fins it is going to be too long on the sides. What gives? Does any one understand what I am describing and any idea on how to fix it?

Well did you get an OEM bumper or some crappy aftermarket ebay piece?

The one that came on the car when I bought it was a blue is color (not painted). I am not sure...it could be an ebay one.

As for taking it off and putting it back on I can do that, but I am worried that the sides will be too long if I push the lip all the way back into the fins.

Why would I need to take the bumper cover off? The thing is the body shop is a little over an hour away and I don't know when the guy can do it so I would almost rather just do it myself.

I still dont see why you would take the bumper cover of to install the lip. I dont even see why that would be logical considering how awkward it would be to handle the bumper cover with the lip attached to it.
Do you have a front lip and speak from experience?

Took me 25 minutes to mount the front lip on my car. That's with the bumper cover on. And included getting the drill and bits.

so the best way to take rivots out is to drill them? I have never taken rivots out.

you need to drill the rivets out. its pretty simple, just go easy so you dont nick the paint.

Then put screws back in the holes? I don't have rivot gun...I guess I could buy one but I don't think I would ever use it other than to do this.

Rivets and gun are about $5, but screws will work to. Plus its that much easier to remove the lip if you ever needed to with screws.
