Lookin for a 1.8" drop or more

I have a 98 se max i wanna drop it either 1.8" all around or 2" all around. i like the car to be even, NOT like H-Tech's 1.8F and 1.6R. So for that what brand of springs would be good? and the most reasonable price?? thanks alot

If you think about it, I'm sure your front end sits higher than the rear, especially if you have amp/subs back there. So a 1.8/1.6 F/R drop should make the wheel gaps nearly even.

If you want to go that low and stay even, buy coilovers. You will be better of in the long run, better ride and handling.

Better "ride?" Control/handling yes, but better ride? Do you mean that as a more comfortable ride? Because if so then i'd have to disagree with you on that one considering that coilovers are MUCH stiffer than just a combo of springs/shocks/struts.

They may be stiffer but definitely more comfortable than a slammed spring/strut combo that bottoms out or hits the bump stops due to sacrified suspension travel with a shorter spring

enough with all the "z"'s

now back to the conversation......S techs are terrible "for looks only" springs. Probably the biggest suspension downgrade you could possibly do to your maxima in terms of handling and ride. Your control arm angles will be screwed. Your ride quality will be garbage. The spring rates are too low for such a short spring. Really, of the 15 or so springs (non-coilover) out there for the maxima, S-techs would be my last choice. If the plan is to go lower than 1.5", get coilovers and expect bump steer.

And THIS is America's youth, people. I'm all for mass neutering if it stops crap like this. I didn't think the public school system was all THAT bad until now. I'm making a new personal rule: I'm not hiring anyone born after 1983.

I know you're going to think I'm an old fart, but dude, seriously, please go get yourself spayed now before you have a chance to ruin future generations.

This guys is proof that stupid people breed more.

selling brand new progress springs if you're going the strut/spring route

hey, if we're gonna start flaming in this thread, might as well use it for a shameless plug....

translation: Hi. I am trying to become an e-thug but either way around it I will end up being reemed but who cares because I love it without the lube. Any ways you should get coilovers and when I am ganged in your back seat you will never notice me moving out of excitement. P.S. I forgot that with coilovers they are adjustable so it doesn't matter how they sit b/c I can adjust them.

if you want to go that low, coilovers or nothing...irish summed it up very nicely, but be advised that even if you get coilovers, lowering it that much will actually have adverse affects on handling...

You should figure out how stiff you want your springs. If you want the control, but want a smooth ride, go with Tein.

Rated: Worthless n00b first post.

"Tein"....are you referring to Tein H-tech, Teain S-tech, Tein basics, Tein EFDC, etc? They all have different ride, different drop, and different handling characteristics. You can't make a blanket statement "go with Tein."

irish what would you recommend for springs? I am thinking eibach but id like to hear some knowledagble replies. I personally like the look of the eibach drop better, im not into that slammed look. Also what struts would you pair with them.

I read hte stickies, but i thought id ask because i know you had the eibachs.
