05 G35 sedan sport 6mt and 02 maxima 6mt HP number and etc...

Ok, Graph is comparing a 05 G35 sedan sport 6mt dyno and a 02 maxima 6mt dyno numbers

1.) the maxima pulled better numbers in third , while the g35 got better numbers in 4th?

2.)sorry for the black and white, something is wrong with my scanner, But you can see how close the numbers and then the g35 keeps gaining after 5.5 k while the max just starts to drop HP..

3.) G35 has a intake, Max has intake and safc

4.) at least i put down more TQ...lol

5) what gives the g35 that top end , is it the ecu or the intake manifold? How can I get that top end on my VQ??

i was under the impression the 06 G35 with a 6spd had a redline of 7k? i would have to assume it would have kept climbing if it was taken to fuel cut.

Think the G35's topend relies heavily on VTC. For the longest time everyone thought it was the IM but when people installed it without spacer they actually lost area under the curve (although tq curve was a lot smoother). Most of the difference there would then be due to VTC.

If you want to read a little more check out this thread. It should also be noted that this was performed using the 287hp manifold and not the "revup" 298/300hp version.

Also, no doubt the G/Z's exhaust helps a bit as well.

well, im not sure. the redline is 6700 or so, but you can push it and sometimes get the fuel cut at 7k, but often its more like 6850. (on the tach). personal experience, so dont try to negate anything but the tach.

i believe its a combo of intake manifold, exhaust VTC's and timing. my belief is that when people put the manifold on, they didnt see the gains because of a lack of exhaust VTC's, i still think it is superior to the max manifold, just not on a max.

this was done on the 298hp rated g35, i forgot if my friends car is the 05 or 06, he said its got 298 tho so which ever year that is

Im not sure why i didnt keep climing to 7k, i think they guy on the dyno just let off but the line stoped climing after about 6.5

both these cars should be dynoed in 5th gear. which is the closest with a 1:1 ratio

just because they are better numbers doesnt mean they are right. if you dyno in first you should get pretty good numbers too (i would think, dont flame me if thats not true). the max 5 and 6 speed should dyno in 4th. its not about better numbers, but the ratios

yep, you want to get as close to a 1:1 ratio when dynoing your car. For 6-speeders, it would be in 4th gear.
