question about tweeters

Hey guys i was planning on putting some tweeters in the rear of the max. I kno i kno.. they should be in the front but i want more sound coming from the rear. Anyway, i was wondering if it matters how many ohms the tweeters are. I was going to tap them off of the rear speakers. If it does matter. Whats the ohm rating for the bose door speakers? Im runnin a Pionner HU with everything else factory Bose. Thanks!

Man... you're gonna screw up your imaging. Why do you want more sound out of the rear? Sounds like you need a better front stage to encompass the car in a better overall sound.

Not only that, it might not even be possible depending on how your deck is installed. If its installed using the preouts to power the Bose amps, then use the high level out from the deck to run 4 ohm tweeters, but if you are already using high level out from the deck, I dont know of a way to accomplish what you want to do.

But, good god i cant imagine how sh!tty this is going to sound. No offense.

Since the pio is probably just running signal to power up the bose amps he should be alright wiring them to the speaker outs, however DON'T effing DO IT! lol.

guys why do you say that it is so bad to have tweeters in the back. Would it really sound bad for the people up front? Im asking because I know the Lexus Mark Levinson sound system has tweeters in the back as well and it sounds damn good.

To expand beyond what Don just said, movies are recorded in 5.1. Music is recorded in stereo. Left and right, and meant to be a stage in front of you.

zgrm. Either learn what you are talking about or kindly leave. Anyone who has been here to see your old threads already knows your lack of credibility, so by continuing to post, you are only confusing other noobs like yourself who we are trying to help. To the thread creator, you will screw up your sound not just because its behind you, but because you are adding extra tweeters to an already full range rear speaker...which makes what zgrm said irrelevant, because component sets are crossed over according to each drivers specs.

Cliff Notes: dont do it.

yea well, when youre in a car youre not in a concert, if you want to put tweeters in the back then do you, its not like youre going to rip them out after installing them in a blind fit of rage because the band doesnt sound like theyre playing in front of you

i consider myself an audiophile and had 4 tweeters instlaled in my old car, 2 up front, 2 rear, and i loved it. just do what you like and if you dont like the way it sounds just take em off. be you.

I appreciate the feedback everyone. I felt that adding tweeters to the read because my rears are on my rear doors and really dont hear too much depending on the song. I figured adding tweeters to the rear deck gave it more of a FULL stereo sound. But i see what everyone is saying.

Stereo sound is left and right, not left, right, front and back. You would only be throwing everything off. You don't want to HEAR it from the back, the stage should be in front of you as if you were at a concert.

Thanks for the nice post
But I dont see what this has to do with my credibility...
Im just trying to learn also. I know its not good to put tweeters in the rear, but I was asking a question why Lexus' top-of-the-line system does this and it sounds damn good?

first of, the mtx were a gift, and the infinitis i bought based on reviews (came highly recommended) theres abosolutely NO WAY to know how good or bad they sound till everythings installed.

some of you act like snobs man, i do consider myself an audiophile, i hate low quality music, i hate static filled music and prefer records over cds, now, thats totally different than not having the money to buy the "leet - ultimate - best blow your ear" sound system.

never once did i mention that mtx or infiniti was the best brand speakers. just that i got alot of compliments on the sound quality. some of you need to relax, thats 2x someones been attacked in this thread for not thinking like an elitist sound sucking a@@hole.

You sound like a ............. whats the word......... whats the word... a crybaby? C'mon man, we've all been exposed to different products/brands etc. we also know what it's like not to be able to afford the "leet" equipment. Based on your posts, you seem to need a bit of direction.

I don't let the internets bother me like you do. I apologize for your overlyedgyness Based on post #8 you don't seem very eager to listen to what any of us want to say. We're going to give our opinions because we're on an open forum, we didn't attack you, we voiced our opnions about your product choice/list. I mean calling you a crybaby might have been harsh, but it was in jest, next time I'll add the or the . There's more than a few people in this forum that are more than willing to help. Just because there is a difference of opinion doesn't mean we are attacking you.

BTW, you can make fun of my altima all you want. Doesn't bother me that your girl drives one. Hell there's girls that drive Ferrari's Porsche's and Bentley's. I don't take on a sexist attitude in regards to what sex drives what kind of car.

we tried to give you some direction. Remember we told you that tweeters would screw up your front stage? when you're at a concert the sound comes from the front....not from all around you?

A LOT of guys on here have listened to PLENTY of stuff from the low end to the highend. I consider myself fortunate to have listened to a couple of nice systems (manny/don) and try to get mine the way I like it. Everyone had to start somewhere right? that's cool I respect that...I had to start somewhere too. My first system was pioneer speakers with a rockford amp pushing 2 mtx subwoofers.

Listen to the guys on here..they KNOW they're stuff. You dont' have to go out and DO exactly as they say but do listen to them. if your'e an A$$ they'll probably be an A$$ to you too...so chill out.

this is exactly what i was saying!

depends on ur music, how you like things to sound, that he didnt have to model his car after what someone else said, everyones preferences are different, try the 4 tweeter setup, if you like, keep it- if not remove. SIMPLE. when i said i was an audiophile it was like open season on me and my equipment. thats all.

And the person driving a Ferrari will look at you saying, "my grandma drives a Maxima...yeah you know what I mean by that".

Personally I will admit, I am still learning what good sound quality is and know where some of you are coming from in terms of having no budget

I will vouch for Infinitys though! For having a low-to-no budget, Infinity reference series gives you a great bang for the buck and have a great full sound if you get their components with 6x9" rears to give you OK bass. You won't get much better for less than $200 I am by no means an audiophile like some people I have met, however I do have a good ear and some things do bother me.

Just my $0.02 from my limited experience.

The problem simply is that if someone said that to you, you would take offense to it. You said it to me and it doesn't bother me at all.
