Body kit or Lip kit

Hello, i want to get a ground effects kit and is nice looking with stock rims and not too rice, and at the same time at a good price. Which one should i get Body or Lip? Which brands are good? Ionic? Stillen? etc. Thanks

I don't think any kit will look that good with stock rims, but the best looking would be a lip kit: Stillen/Ionic

Least expensive will be from the classified section. Both stillen and the Ionic kit look great. I like the newer Ionic kit the best because it has a similar feel as the stillen but is different, less common right now, and is much cheaper. It's $525 or so for the Ionic kit brand new. Then paint, and I'm guessing you'll install it yourself. So probably about $700 for everything new. Check classifieds often and go from there, I know I saw 2 seperate kit threads in there.

Ive seen your posts on CMC, is the car yours yet? I would easily go with the lip kit.

it all depends on the look you want. A full kit makes your car look alot more custom where a lip kit kindof shows that you want your car to look a little more unique but is defenitely still a maxima.

I, like most of the org, is in great favor of the stillen lip kit. Especially with stock rims. A full body kit with stock rims just looks funny.

Are you sure the new kit is fiberglass?

:edit: It says that the side skirts are fiberglass, so Im guessing that the rest is as well.

definitely get the lip kit. Stillen would be best, but if not, Ionic is a great choice too.

Could someone provide me with a link?

if ur going to get a lip, u might as well get a bodykit, and if u want the best looking one, the stillen/ionic is definately the most tasteful

I personally like the front and side skirts on the ionic kit but I don't like the rear skirts it comes with. It really depends on what your looking for. If your looking for an aggressive look then go with a full body kit. If your like me and want to go with something a bit more than stock but not as aggressive as a full kit then go with a lip kit.

personally I dont like most body kits for the maxima. I think the best ones are the ones that dont make too big of a difference from the stock, like a lip

THis quote was taken from the Ionic Group Deal section to tell that the front lips are not made out of fiberglass:

"All three front lips are manufactured in FRP. This stands for Fiber Reinforced Plastic. It's not the same composite as fiberglass, this is the closest thing to urethane, it is a highly flexible material, it is also impact and tear resistant. please click on this link to view it's flexibility: http://www.ionicdynamics.com/lipflexibility.html"

It does only say the front lips are made of this material, not the entire kit.

SOO... Something I've been wondering, what is required for the install of the Stillen lip kit? I'm guessing that if I wanted it to fit a white Max, I'd have to paint them white (though I'm unsure exactly what the body part paint process requires). Then what do I do after that? Screw it on? Bondo it on? Glue? I'm confused on the latter parts.

3M exterior tape, plus a few rivets or screws and you should be good.

With stock rims, do nothing more than a lip if you don't want to get clowned.

Now with that said, do what you want. It's your car.

Love the Stillen Lip kit, nothing beats that for a maxima, in my point of view.

I"m not a fan of the body kits that are made for Maxima's. But if i were to do anything to it, I would add the front lip and side skirts. i've seen some nyce ones on maximas.

I'd go with the Stillen front lip, Sarona sides, and Stillen rears. BTW are sarona sides still in production?

yes they are...I think the lip kit is to much of a me 2 item now.Everyone has the lip,it does look good but i would go with a body kit.In the spring i will have one of the sarona kits on my ride.Maken your ride look different then everyone else is a better way to go imo.....
