Auto climate control? Probably the temp sensor. If not, is the engine getting warm?

if his car is running, his engine will be warm

maybe a relay that opens the vents up to let warm air in from your engine went out

digital or analog climate control?

my car is the same way, but im just gonna let my friend fix it for me, im gonna try and get it fixed this weekend, ill let u know what is wrong with mine.

there's a valve that opens up when you set the A/C controls to cold, letting cold air in, and that may be stuck. Look in the FSM for it: www.phatg20.net

if it's an auto climate control, replace the "intake temperature sensor" located downstream of the evaporator behind the glove box.

It's a PITA to replace, but the sensor only costs $10 or so...

I just ordered mine and installed it last night. Thanks to Josh, my air/heat is working normal again. You can get it from Dave Burnette at South Point Nissan for $9.58. The part number is 27723-4P000. I had a situation similar to yours. The air was cold from 65 degrees to 84 degrees. I did have heat on the 85 degree setting, but only that setting and there wasn't any variation of temperature between 65 and 84. Josh was right....it is a pain in the a$$ to change. It took me 1 1/2 hours to change it. Thanks again Josh.

Here is the link to the post where I got my info.

Agreed - check your coolant level. I've seen two cases where the defrost didn't work and no warm air because the engine had no coolant (one my car, and another a friend's car ).

no prob...

just as a side note....I think I mentioned I actually cracked part of the bottom of the evap box when trying to get in there....Welll........as it turns out its the part of the box that condensed water drains out of the car....which means that for the week after I did it, whenever I had the A/C on it was draining this water onto my passenger floormat...grr.

nothing some clear silicone and duct tape didn't fix though ghetto....

I think he has the non automatic climate control. In that case, look under your hood. There should be a heater hose going to the firewall with a valve. Push on that valve one way or the other and see if you get heat now.

If you dont, then coolant isnt going to your heater core.

Make sure you have enough coolant in the system and it's purged of air. If this still doesnt work, check your water pump.

Sometime it happend that the heater radiator is clogged and need to be flush with pressure.

You need to change the resistor or rheostat. Something with an R. haha. I think it's resistor. Look up the AC/heater fan resistor and thats the part you need to change.
